Missing a few of our members, but we had the best time team building this weekend ❤️ 🧜‍♀️ Curating terrariums and gardening are amazing ways to de-stress, especially when you're surrounded by great people! We're so grateful for the providers, and employees we have here at Mermaid Counseling, and are proud of the work they do every day!!

The Lindsey Clancy case is devastating, and it has sparked many conversations about perinatal mental health.

The perinatal period begins during pregnancy and extends (on paper) for over a full year after birth. But it’s much more complicated than that. With so many challenges such as hormone crashes, physical aches and pains, sleepless nights, and all the stress that comes along with learning how to raise a newborn, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

We are passionate about supporting new parents in their journey, no matter where they are. Did you know we have certified perinatal mental health specialists on staff? We also love to support new dads and birthing partners and are a registered partner of Postpartum Support Virginia. Please reach out if you are struggling! We would be honored to support you.

Therapy isn't a quick fix where all your problems are solved in one session.

Therapy exercises patience within yourself. It allows you to slow down and work through things. It may not be pretty but if you trust the process, you'll come out on the other side a happier, healthier person. You'll see just how necessary the imperfect process was.

If you're looking to dig deeper into yourself, we are here to help you along your way.
