Leadership study and teaching as I was introduced to John Maxwell over 20 years ago. I believe this to be an evident truth and motivator to continue my own development. With this truth, I am continually looking at life through the lens of leadership. This "lens" has been very useful in my own life. I am a Captain for a major airline and I have been flying for almost 40 years. I am also a Lead Instructor, teaching pilots who are new to the airliner that I fly, as well as training new instructors in the aircraft and in the simulator. I have taught leadership for many years in various forums, including classes of teacher students at a local university, classes of home schooled teenagers and to homeless men at a local shelter and rehabilitation facility. Leadership has great applications in youth sports as well. I have coached sports for more than 10 years including soccer, ice hockey, baseball and basketball. I have enjoyed watching the development of young players from one season to the next and it translates directly to leadership development in life. My home is in White Lake, Michigan where I reside with my wife Tammy. We are a blended family with 7 children, ranging in age from 16 to 30. Our mission is to grow with them and try to equip them for life. Leadership plays a key role for us in accomplishing this.
