Google/GMail phishing warning!!!

We found a good writeup on a sneaky phishing attack, that uses Google Auth and Google sites.

The attacker crafted an email that was made to fool you into logging into your Google account (credential harvesting) , with an email posing as a legal notice from Google!

Long story short! Don’t trust things and think about what’s being sent to you, what’s being told to you, and what the email is telling you to do!

We recently were contacted by one of Facebooks remote “support team” in regard to our page..

“mariusz Laska” wanted to ensure we were safe and following the rules. We felt it appropriate to make fun of “Mariusz’s” attempt to phish….

We then felt bad and wanted to offer Mariusz a proper training on social engineering, as their “hacker” game is weak.. 😔

China APT confirmed to have compromised several U.S. Treasury workstations and apparently had elevated their access to gain access to several treasury DO users and their “non- classified” documents (allegedly).

According to a letter sent to Senate leaders and obtained by CyberScoop, the compromises occurred through third-party software provider BeyondTrust, which provides identity and access management security solutions.

Our data has been “leaked” so many times, that text messages like these are far too common!

Just a reminder, even if the text/email seems ok, don’t trust it.. you are better to go to the browser yourself and directly (manually) enter the website link as you KNOW it, or by using Google and reviewing the Google search.

You can use tools like:
Urlscan.io and https://wheregoes.com to see where a link will take you (if you still may believe the site/link was legit).

NEW: "Presumably, Toyota has not negotiated a ransom payment with the cybercriminals, and currently, all data has been leaked on Medusa's extortion portal on the dark web."

This is from last month's data breach when threat actors demanded a payment of $8,000,000 to delete the stolen data. They gave Toyota 10 days to respond to their blackmail.

Now they are admitting that "sensitive personal and financial data was exposed in the attack." Here is a sample of what was stolen:
* Full name
* Residence address
* Contract information
* Lease-purchase details
* IBAN (International Bank Account Number)
