We are streamlining some things around here. Optimizing resources is important. Here is how we are doing this right now:
Where it formed: Approximately 11-12 years ago while completing another move to a new ministry location, we recognized a desire to support others in their vision and mission. We have learned a lot about how to do this, and how not to do this over the past two decades.
When it began: At the end of 2023 and to kick off 2024, SHIFT HAPPENS was born. "Navigating transformative shifts to help in life and ministry." A few months in, we caught on to what was emerging in the corporate world and believe that the concept and heart of a fractional officer is needed in the church world. We launched The Fractional Pastors in April of 2024.
What we recognized: Some people immediately caught on to and appreciated Shift Happens. Launching TFP was needed for more pastors and churches to better understand what we are doing. This kind of left Shift Happens lingering (Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to...).
Why we are streamlining: Many resources are depleted by running multiple websites, social media platforms, and more. While we see this being a full-time ministry for us at some point, it isn't. We (Nick & Jill) work multiple full and part-time jobs each week and on an annual basis. We still have two kids at home, which we love, and we are making the most of the remaining time we have.
What now? If you made it this far, thank you. The Shift Happens website is no longer around. There is now an "S | H" (pipeline between the letters) page on The Fractional Pastors website. It currently says "coming soon". This is because we are figuring it out. A majority of our energy and resources will be focused on TFP. Shift Happens might focus more on the corporate world and raising awareness of how faith-based leaders and companies can partner with us to support pastors and churches that need it. It also might be a way for us to support faith-based companies and their vision and mission outside of the church.
Like many of you, we are on a journey. We strongly believe that churches can accomplish more without the need to hire another full-time staff person. We know that supporting multiple churches simultaneously works. And finally, we look forward to the opportunity to discuss how TFP can support your vision and mission! thefractionalpastors.com
