Happy Sunday! Enjoying a few days of spring break in Philly visiting my daughter.

So in true momma Steph fashion we have spent the day shopping for organizational items for me to maximize their closet space.

I’m just now starting and it’s 5pm here… 😳🫣

Here’s some before photos.

If you don’t know where to start.. THIS is it!!

Spring cleaning doesn’t have to mean flipping your entire house upside down in one weekend.

Start SMALL. Start SIMPLE. Start HERE.

1. Pick ONE small space
A drawer. A shelf. A corner.
Quick wins build momentum — not overwhelm.

2. Use the 3 Pile Rule
Keep. Donate. Trash.
No ā€œmaybeā€ pile… that’s where clutter goes to live forever.

3. Set a 20-minute timer
That’s it. Anyone can do 20 minutes.
And once you start… you’ll probably keep going šŸ˜‰

You don’t need a perfect house.
You just need a place to begin.

SPRING RESET… the REALISTIC way!

Let’s be honest…
Spring cleaning doesn’t have to mean pulling everything out, making a bigger mess, and burning out halfway through.

At Realistic Reorganization, we do things differently:

āœ”ļø Start small (one drawer > whole house)
āœ”ļø Keep what actually serves your life right now
āœ”ļø Let go of the guilt clutter
āœ”ļø Create systems you can actually maintain

Because organizing isn’t about perfection…
It’s about peace.

If your home is feeling heavy, overwhelming, or just ā€œoffā€ā€¦ this is your sign to reset—without the stress.

A quick update about the direction of this page. šŸ‘‡

Many of you know that sometimes I share personal stories, life lessons, or reflections here. I’ve loved the conversations those posts create, but I’ve decided to give those thoughts their own space.

Moving forward, Realistic Reorganization will stay focused on what it was created for:

āœ”ļø Home organization
āœ”ļø Decluttering support
āœ”ļø Moving and downsizing help
āœ”ļø Consignment & closet cleanouts
āœ”ļø Tips, tricks, and organization ideas
āœ”ļø Appointment availability and service updates for our community

The personal storytelling, life lessons, and random thoughts will now live over on my other page Easily Distracted.

If you enjoy the real-life reflections, stories, and ā€œMomma Steph thoughts,ā€ I’d love for you to follow along over there too.

And right here on Realistic Reorganization, we’ll keep focusing on helping people clear space, simplify their homes, and make life a little easier.

Thank you to everyone who supports my small business and follows along. šŸ’›

šŸ’œ International Women’s Day šŸ’œ

As a woman-owned small business, I feel grateful every day that people trust me to come into their homes and help them take back control of their spaces.

Organizing isn’t just about stuff.

Sometimes it’s about starting fresh.
Sometimes it’s about letting go.
Sometimes it’s about making life easier during a hard season.

Women carry a lot — families, homes, businesses, responsibilities, and often the emotional weight of it all.

If my work helps even a little bit with that, then I’m doing something that matters.

To all the women out there doing their best every day… you’re doing better than you think.

I don’t talk much about being a single mom.

Not because it hasn’t been hard… but because it’s just been my reality.

For most of my kids’ lives, I made a quiet promise to myself:
I wasn’t going to embarrass myself online, bash their fathers, or spend my energy complaining about what wasn’t there.

Were there times I wished things were different? Of course.
Was it exhausting, frustrating, and draining at times? Absolutely.

But I also believed something else.

In most situations, we made the choice of who we had children with. And once those kids are here, the focus has to shift from blame… to raising them the best we can.

So I focused on being their mom.

Not a ā€œsingle mom.ā€
Just their mom.

My kids are now 24 and almost 14, and one thing I’m really proud of is that I didn’t speak badly about their dads to them. Was I transparent with situations, and answering their questions as age appropriate as possible.. YES. However, I let them form their own relationships and their own opinions as they grew. Just like all of us do as adults.

Over the years our life has grown too.
More stability.
More opportunity.
More things I can provide now than when they were little.

But the goal was always the same:
Be better. Do better.

People tell me a lot that I have good kids.

And this week my son reminded me why that matters more than anything.

I woke up to a little note from him.

He had taken one of my energy drinks, but not the last one.
He left me $2 of his own money to replace it.
And he wrote me a note saying thank you.

That small gesture meant more than he probably realizes.

Because in that moment it felt like validation for the last 24 years of just… showing up and being their mom.

Not perfect.
Not easy.
But consistent.

Sometimes the smallest moments remind you that all the hard parts were worth it.

And that you did a good job.

Just a mom. ā¤ļø

Some honest thoughts today…

Do you ever feel like you want to show up for everyone… but struggle to show up for yourself?

I spend so much time helping other people see what’s possible — in their homes, their lives, their next steps. I can see their potential so clearly. I know the systems. I know the work. I know how to help people move forward.

But sometimes… believing in myself the same way is the hard part.

It’s easy to get stuck in your head.
You start thinking about all the other things you should do first.
All the reasons it might not work.
All the things that feel overwhelming.

And suddenly you’re stuck in that weird place between knowing you can do something… and actually doing it.

That paralysis of procrastination is real.

But here’s the thing I’m reminding myself today:

I don’t have to have everything figured out.
I just have to keep showing up.

One step.
One task.
One small action forward.

Because the truth is… I do believe in the work I’m doing. And I know it helps people.

Sometimes the hardest person to organize, motivate, and push forward… is yourself.

If you’re feeling this today too — you’re not alone.

If you have a box of clothes sitting in your closet, it could be worth $20–$80 instead of just being donated!

New Service: Clothing Consignment & Cash-Out Support

Decluttering your closet is one thing…
figuring out what to donate, trash, or consign is where most people get stuck.

I now offer a done-for-you clothing sorting and consignment service so you can clear the space and potentially make some money back.

How It Works

1ļøāƒ£ Fill a box
Use a large box (Walmart moving box or similar) and fill it with as many clothes as you can fit.

2ļøāƒ£ I pick it up
I sort through everything and separate items into:
• Consignment pieces
• Donation items
• Trash/unusable items

Clothing is also separated by season for the best chance of selling.

3ļøāƒ£ I prepare everything for consignment
I will:
• Clean items if needed
• Steam or freshen clothes
• Hang them properly

4ļøāƒ£ I drop them off for you
I set up a consignment account in your name at Grace’s Merry-Go-Round

You will receive an account number so you can:
• Call and check your balance anytime
• Pick up a check from the store
• Or request that they mail your check

They operate on a 50/50 consignment split, so you receive half of whatever your items sell for.

āø»

My Service Fee

$25 per box
(as much clothing as you can fit in it)

This covers:
āœ” Pickup
āœ” Sorting (donate / trash / consignment)
āœ” Cleaning & preparing clothes
āœ” Hanging items
āœ” Consignment drop-off under your account

You simply fill the box and I handle the rest.

Typical Consignment Sales

Tops: $4–8
Pants: $6–10
Jackets / Team Apparel: $8–12

You receive 50% of the sale price.

Most people make back $20–$80 per box while clearing out their closet.
