This morning, our team traded spreadsheets for shovels and spent the day volunteering with the organization Avenues to Independence (https://bit.ly/4eew9in). Together, we rolled up our sleeves to remove weeds and help refresh the outdoor spaces that residents enjoy every day.

We're grateful for the opportunity to support an organization that does such meaningful work in our community and to spend time giving back alongside our colleagues.

A big thank you to everyone who volunteered and helped make the day a success. Sometimes the best team-building happens outside the office!

The future of the accounting profession was on display at Sassetti U 2026.

We were excited to welcome talented accounting students to our office for a day of learning, networking, and hands-on experience. Through interactive sessions, team discussions, and real-world insights, students had the opportunity to explore the many career paths available in public accounting and gain a firsthand look at life at Sassetti.

From connecting with our professionals to participating in friendly competition and collaborative activities, the day was filled with meaningful conversations, valuable lessons, and plenty of fun.

We are pleased to share an exciting update from Sassetti.

Please join us in congratulating Eric Franklin, CPA on his promotion to Partner.

Eric has been with Sassetti since 2018 and serves as a leader within our tax practice and a key member of our Manufacturing Industry Services Group. Throughout his time at the firm, Eric has been instrumental in delivering thoughtful, proactive tax planning and advisory support to our clients, always with a focus on long-term value and collaboration.

Eric’s expertise spans corporate and pass-through taxation, state and local taxation, ASC 740 tax provisions, and tax accounting methods. He also brings extensive experience in trust and estate planning, gift taxation, and complex individual tax matters. His approach reflects Sassetti’s commitment to integrated service, working closely with our audit, advisory, wealth management, and client accounting teams to deliver well-rounded solutions.

Before joining Sassetti, Eric began his career at a boutique firm in the northwest Chicago suburbs and later gained experience at a large national firm. Eric is also a veteran and served over 8 years in U.S. Army Reserve.

Eric’s promotion to Partner reflects his technical excellence, leadership, and dedication to both clients and colleagues. We are proud to welcome him into Sassetti’s partner group and look forward to the continued impact he will make in serving our clients and community.

After more than 35 years of dedication to his clients and the profession, we were proud to celebrate the retirement of our Partner, Tom Kross.

Tom’s career has been defined by his expertise, mentorship, and integrity. He will be deeply missed by clients and colleagues alike.

We celebrated in true Sassetti fashion with great food, cake, a photo booth full of laughs, and a new grill to kick off Tom’s next chapter. Congratulations, Tom, and thank you for everything you have given to Sassetti. Wishing you many well earned moments ahead.
