August was a big month at Arthur Smith Advising! We turned six years old and we hosted our first ever staff retreat in Chicago. It was inspiring to observe our committed, caring, and expert team of counselors working together to find the best ways to empower and support our students. And it sure is fun to work with friends! Thanks to each of them for their great work and thanks especially to all the families (we've supported more than 1000 students in our first 6 years!) that have placed their trust in us!

Not all strong students are strong test takers—and that’s okay.

In this clip, counselor and test prep guru Leigh explains why standardized testing is a skill that can be learned and improved over time. Some students earn great grades, participate in class, and know the material well, but still struggle to show what they know in a timed testing environment.

The good news? Test-taking strategies, practice, and the right support can make a significant difference.

If your student is feeling frustrated by standardized tests, we’re here to help. From personalized test prep to proven strategies for building confidence and performance, our team has resources designed to help students reach their potential.
