When fuel rates start jumping double or more, it really puts a pinch on small business owner-operators, and/or Motor Carriers. Many drive more than 100,000 miles a year, and with current fuel prices, that comes out to an expense of more than $60,000. Fuel is the largest expense for a trucker. DRIVE WISELY and if you can, pivot. Running harder equates to spending more on fuel and in my opinion, that isn’t fiscally smart depending on your situation.

FYI FOR THOSE LOOKING TO GET YOUR CDL:

What this means is that you can no longer study on your own, walk into the SOS, test for your cdl and walk out with a permit. You must first attend some type of schooling prior to, which means more out of pocket costs…but, those of you who have gotten your permit prior to February 7th are grandfathered in. So you can still test for other endorsements on your own.
