The truth about hazard assessments is that they aren't a one-time big-time task and then you're over it. 🙅

In reality, it's a highly collaborative task that entails consistency in reviewing and updating the initially identified hazards and risks to ensure proper precautions are in place.

🎯 Remember, when we learn how to do a COMPREHENSIVE and THOROUGH Hazard Assessment in the workplace, you:

➡️ Learn to prioritize your routine monitoring and inspection;
➡️ Protect your company from dreadful OSHA-liability scenarios (not to mention the hefty fines);
➡️ Saves you cost and your reputation from injuries or accidents; and
➡️ Ensure that you manage all possible risks to as "low" as you can get them

To help you get this sorted out and focus more on managing your workplace's next routine hazard assessment, head to our link below to join our Hazard Assessment Workshop - - - > https://bit.ly/3C0oF38

As Safety Managers, it can be hard to get collaboration and teamwork among operations and top management when conducting a hazard assessment, right? 🤷‍♀️

One thing you could do is to emphasize the benefits of doing hazard assessments regularly, completely, and thoroughly. 👍

REGULARLY - in the sense that it is updated in frequency or when changes are made from the previous procedures.

COMPLETELY & THOROUGHLY - meaning all scopes are covered, risks are identified, and controls are in place.

By doing this, all functional benefits are met, and it's a win-win situation for Safety, Operations, and the Management.

Hop on the link below to get to know more about how you can conduct hazard assessments the right way (REGULARLY, COMPLETELY, and THOROUGHLY) - - - > https://bit.ly/3C0oF38

Due to the heavy demands of our line of work, many safety managers cling to some notions that may stop them from reaching the C-Suite level. 😩

In my experience, it's important to address these wrong impressions early on so that you are developing the right skills to give you the edge you need in the future to reach your career 🥅 goals.

❌ Location - "Where I live is holding me back." This is a myth since there are numerous paths and choices open to safety professionals to further their careers, despite geographic limitations.

❌ College Degree - "I can't get a high-paying job without one." It's a myth because it is possible to advance in your profession in safety without a safety degree. All it takes to move up the job ladder quickly is accumulating work experience with lots of positive results. Trust me when I say this because I, myself, even without a degree, was able to advance to a regional safety management level.

❌Experience - "I don't have the experience to work anywhere else." This is false because I believe that whatever we're currently facing in our careers adds up to our experience. There may be certain degrees or levels of experience depending on how far along you are in the safety field, but do not discount this learning (big or small).

❌ Top Management Support - "My management team, doesn't support safety, and that's why I can't get results." This is completely false because they advocate for safety. You are in the company because they believe in Safety, and they don't want to see somebody injured while working for the company. There is likely a gap between your vision and theirs. And closing that gap is completely possible

Having said this, you might want to consider looking into professional development programs like The Safety Management Academy - it has:→ 37 lessons, including video and audio versions.

→ Study guides & PDFs
→ Templates, forms, and spreadsheets
→ A private students-only Facebook Group
→ Live Q&A Sessions with me
→ Bonuses that cover the fundamentals of safety management, recordkeeping & documentation
→ Lifetime access so you can take the course over and over again.

To learn a safe work practice, you need to get your employee 👷‍♀️ to realize what they're supposed to do and why it's crucial. 👍 Not just tell them what to do. ✅

And open-ended questions are key 🗝️ to excellent safety coaching! 😉😎

This is why saying "Good Job" is not safety coaching. 🙅‍♀️ You just gave positive feedback to the employee, which was a one-way conversation. 😟

Safety Coaching is an important part of Safety Management as long as you are using the right methods to reach your safety goals.

In the safety industry, effective communication is important. ✅💯 Employees learn and regulate information more effectively if trained in their native language. 👷‍♀️👩‍💼 When it comes to safety training, understanding increases when learners give their full attention to the topic without mentally translating it into their first language. 👍 And misunderstanding can lead to slow productivity, lower revenue, injuries, and accidents. ❌🤷‍♀️

To create good communication and achieve safety goals💪👷‍♂️, management teams or safety managers can make the best training programs that ensure every employee understands regardless of the language used in the workplace. 😄✅
