Yesterday’s project had a little more to it than simply hanging a TV.

The customer wanted a 70" TV mounted above the fireplace, but there was a large, recessed opening where the TV needed to go. I built a solid wood frame inside the recessed area to create the proper support for a flat/tilt mount with extended arms.

The extended arms worked perfectly for this setup, allowing the TV to sit out where it needed to while still giving access behind it when necessary.

The customer also decided to place the surround sound bar behind the TV inside the recessed area for a cleaner, more concealed look.

We originally discussed installing a 50" TV on a flat wall in the bedroom. After looking at the room, I suggested putting the TV in the corner instead so it wouldn’t stick out into the room as much. That required going with a smaller TV, so the customer picked up a 43" that evening.

I came back today and mounted the 43" on a single-arm full-motion mount, giving them a much better viewing angle while keeping the TV tucked neatly into the corner.

Sometimes the best installation isn’t just about putting the TV where originally planned, it’s about looking at the space and finding the solution that works best for the customer.

Three TVs mounted on this project, along with a little reminder that nobody gets everything perfect 100% of the time.

• 65" TV mounted in the living room
• 55" TV mounted in the master bedroom with a PowerBridge for concealed wiring
• 55" TV mounted in the office with a PowerBridge for concealed wiring
• PowerBridge setups include 2 power outlets plus USB-B and USB-C connections
• Clothes drying arm installed as well

During the office installation, I made a mistake. The TV mount landed in the metal-stud section of the wall, the interior part. The location I originally opened for the PowerBridge ended up being in the interior/exterior wall section, where there wasn't enough space for the PowerBridge to fit.

I relocated the PowerBridge to the proper location and told the customer I would come back and repair the original opening since the mistake was mine.

Mistakes can happen — I'm human too. What matters is taking responsibility for it and making it right.

The job isn't finished until I'm happy with the work I'm leaving behind and the customer is taken care of.

85" TV installation completed!

The customer already had a mount they wanted to reuse, but the existing toggle bolt locations from the previous TV didn’t line up with the new mount. Instead of trying to make the old locations work, I installed new toggle bolts in the proper locations to securely mount the 85" TV.

While I was there, the customer asked me to take a look at another TV that had previously been mounted in the bedroom.

During the inspection, I found one lag bolt being used in a metal stud, so I replaced it with a proper toggle bolt. I also noticed the other three toggle bolts had been installed without washers. I removed them, added washers, and resecured everything for better grip and security.

Sometimes the details you can’t see after the TV is mounted are the ones that matter most.

Another 85" TV mounted and secure!

The customer already had a mount they wanted to reuse, but the existing toggle bolts from the previous TV installation didn’t line up with the new mounting bracket. I installed new toggle bolts where they were actually needed to properly secure the mount and the 85" TV.

While I was there, the customer also asked me to check a TV that had previously been mounted in the bedroom.

This one took a little more than just mounting TVs.

The job was to move FOUR TVs a 100", 85", 75" and 50" from a second-floor apartment to the customer’s new home about 20 minutes away.

Before taking anything down, I measured the existing TV heights and mount locations so I could recreate the setups at the new house and save time during installation.

Then came the biggest challenge: getting four large TVs, especially that 100", downstairs and transported safely.

Instead of taking chances, I built a custom transport rack, padded and secured everything, and made sure those TVs weren't going anywhere during the trip.

Once we arrived at the new home, the 100" went in the living room while the other three TVs had to make another trip upstairs.

Four TVs removed.
Four mounts relocated.
Four TVs safely transported.
Four TVs installed in their new home.
Zero damage.

Jobs like this are exactly why planning ahead matters. Take your time, protect the customer's equipment, and get it done right.

Two TV setups, one goal, clean, secure installs that fit what each customer wanted.

One customer was upgrading their living room TV, so the existing TV was removed and relocated to the bedroom. The new TV was then mounted in the living room, with surface cable covers used to keep the visible wiring neat and organized.

The second installation was another clean wall-mounted setup, with the TV positioned above the customer’s entertainment center and the cables neatly covered.

Not every home needs the exact same setup. Whether you want cables concealed inside the wall or prefer a clean surface-mounted solution, I’ll work with you to get the look you want.

Another TV upgrade completed!

This customer upgraded the living room from a 55" TV to a new 77" but the 55" wasn’t going to waste.

I removed the 55" from the living room and relocated it to the bedroom, then installed the new 77" TV in the living room.

The customer also wanted the cables cleaned up without running them inside the wall, so surface-mounted cable covers were the perfect solution. Clean, simple, and exactly what she wanted.

Every home and every setup is different. My goal is always to find the solution that works best for the customer.

It's amazing how much of a difference properly placed artwork can make in a home.

Today's project included hanging artwork throughout the house, creating a custom gallery wall, and making sure every piece lined up perfectly from room to room using my precision laser.

Every installation is different. Heavy artwork gets professional mounting hardware rated for the job, while lighter frames are secured with the appropriate hanging system to keep everything safe and looking clean.

Since I already had my tall ladder on site, I also replaced the batteries in all of the home's smoke detectors, a small extra service that helped save the homeowner time and another trip up the ladder.
