I decided to start a local Barter System page to connect with people that are willing and happy to trade services for no money.They both will benefit from helping each other out. Let’s face it. Living in California is very high priced and though it’s absolutely beautiful it can be quite costly. As a older mother to a beautiful boy with Down syndrome, I am busy being a stay at home mother as I have teachers coming in and out of my house daily. I need to be very present for my toddler as he grows. I had a full time job for the last 20 some years of my life cleaning houses, hosting and cleaning Airbnb’s and Vrbo. I even cleaned businesses and did very grueling work doing move out and move in cleans. I also did construction clean ups which can be quite taxing but the pay was pretty decent. I am also a singer/songwriter/musician and performer. Once covid hit, my music took a backseat and I ended up pregnant at 43 and had the most beautiful boy named Oaklee in April of 2021. As a lot of us struggle to keep our heads above water with trying to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table, most of us need to have at least two working wages to take care of a household. Especially, living in California and I am sure many more states feel the pain of rising prices. When Covid hit a lot of things fell apart for most of us, and with my family we decided to start a small family business, that my husband runs. It is called Hawking Hard Drywall and we are licensed and bonded. We started the business back in 2021 and are still working to grow the business. As of now my husband is the only one employed, but he works very hard to keep food on our table and a roof over our heads. We are continuing to hope to grow the business & to be able to add more people to the company. Our dream of owning a profitable business would for us to be able to have enough money for our son and my husbands other children from his first marriage. Our dream would be to be able to leave whatever we have financially grown before we leave this world our beautiful children. We can only hope to grow the company as time moves forward, but in the meantime, I am a stay at home, mother looking to make some income on the side until my son is able to go to school, so I can work at least half a day while he is in school. The services that I can provide in this Barter system I am creating here; would be cleaning houses, Co-hosting, Airbnb’s, and other services as such. I also can teach some music and some sign language to children, preferably ages, 1 to 5 years old. I can also provide music for parties, for pretty much anything requested musically. I’ve been singing my whole life and playing music. I have a lot to offer in that area of creativity for kids. Id love to help children with disabilities and of course children in general. As far as my husband, I’m sure we can trade drywall services and handyman services through him. That being said, I am asking everybody here that wants to be a part of the barter system in Oceanside and surrounding cities. I ask of you to be honest with each other and follow through with your promises and even if you have to write up a contract, please do it. I want this platform to be for those whom truly are in need and willing to trade services. I ask everybody to make sure no matter who you talk with to please make sure they are safe and make sure you know who you are getting involved with before you do. I am not responsible to keep anybody safe here, and I ask all of you to do your homework when you do work together, so nobody ends up getting hurt, or nobody is unhappy. Do not go into a situation if you have red flags or signals telling you not to do something. Also, I ask everybody on this platform please be 18 and older. If there are parents that want to allow their children to do the bartering system that will have to be between the parents and the people they work with. This is a platform to trade anything that you want considering your profession such as haircuts, housekeeping, music, handy work services, pet care, and basically pretty much everything as long as it is safe and clean and nobody is out there doing anything illegal. I do not promote anything that is considered risky or unsafe. So please be careful and make sure whom ever you trade services with you let those you love know who your working with and where you are going. I think that about sums it up for now and if I feel there’s more to add I’ll add more later, but in the meantime, let’s please pass this on in hopes we can get enough people in the Barter system to help each other through hard times so we can keep a roof over our heads and food on the table.
