I just wrapped up a great interview with Ken Broo on WLW in Cincinnati.

Broadcasting at 500,000 watts, WLW is the most powerful AM radio station in North America. Ken has spent more than 50 years behind the microphone and is truly a broadcasting legend.

What impressed me most, however, is what a genuinely great person he is. I had an absolute blast during our conversation.

We discussed employee retention, why workforce shortages are becoming a matter of national concern, and why organizations that focus on retention gain a significant competitive advantage.

The reality is simple: people stay where their future is strongest.

Organizations that build a stronger future for their employees build stronger teams, stronger cultures, and stronger businesses.

Thank you, Ken, for the opportunity and for a terrific conversation.

Could the 2026 FIFA World Cup cost U.S. employers $30 billion in lost productivity?

That is the question I'll be discussing this Thursday with Ken Broo on Cincinnati's legendary WLW 700 AM, "The Big One."

As millions of fans follow the world's largest sporting event, employers may face absenteeism, distractions, scheduling challenges, and productivity losses.

For leaders, the issue is much larger than soccer.

It highlights how employee behavior can significantly impact organizational performance.

We'll discuss the potential business impact and practical strategies employers can use to stay productive.

I'm honored to join Ken Broo, one of Cincinnati's most respected broadcasters.

WLW is one of America's most iconic radio stations.

It was the only radio station in U.S. history authorized to broadcast at 500,000 watts and became known as "The Nation's Station" because its signal reached much of North America.

This will be my third prime-time interview in a major U.S. media market during the past month.

The growing media interest in workforce challenges, talent retention, and productivity reflects the importance of these issues.

Thank you, Ken. I look forward to the conversation.

Why do talented employees leave?

Most leaders assume the answer is compensation. Sometimes they're right. But often, the real reason is much deeper.

Human beings are wired for the future. Every day, your best employees are asking themselves: Can I grow here? Can I succeed here? Can I build the future I want here?

The most dangerous moment is not when a valued employee resigns. The most dangerous moment is when they stop seeing a compelling future with your organization. Once that happens, the countdown has already begun.

After studying workforce retention for more than a decade, I have become convinced of one fundamental truth: People stay where their future is strongest.

The organizations that win the battle for talent are not necessarily the ones paying the most. They are the ones creating the strongest vision of tomorrow.

Workforce challenges continue to be one of the most important issues facing organizations today. It is also one of the topics that resonates most with conference audiences because every organization depends on its ability to attract, engage, and retain talented people.

What future are your best employees seeing today?

I had the pleasure of being interviewed today on *Talk of the Town* with Steve Kelly and Bret Bakita of *West Michigan's Morning News*.

My thanks to Steve, Bret, and the entire team for the opportunity. It was a great conversation and, honestly, one of the most enjoyable interviews I've done.

We discussed a challenge affecting organizations across virtually every industry: retaining highly skilled professionals.

As workforce shortages continue to impact businesses, healthcare organizations, municipalities, and communities throughout the country, leaders are looking for practical solutions to attract, retain, and develop their best people.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to contribute to that conversation.

This was my second radio interview in the past month. I've also participated in two podcasts recently, with another scheduled later this month. The growing interest in talent retention reinforces what many organizations are already experiencing: attracting talent is difficult, but retaining highly skilled professionals is often the greater challenge.

Thank you again to Steve Kelly, Bret Bakita, and everyone at *West Michigan's Morning News* for having me on.

Naval shipbuilding programs execute inside production environments where workforce continuity directly shapes schedule confidence, build precision, and mission readiness.

Submarine and fleet construction depend on sustained skilled labor performance to preserve throughput, maintain quality discipline, and retain institutional expertise across extended acquisition timelines.

When continuity is treated as a measurable program variable, ex*****on variability declines and industrial capacity becomes more predictable.

This reflects an operational reality inherent to modern naval production environments.

Honored to share this recognition.

My episode was selected among the 2025 picks for the Best of BESLER Podcasts, highlighting innovative solutions that strengthen healthcare organizations and stabilize the skilled-labor workforce.
The recognition matters because it brings attention to a major shift happening in workforce strategy:

Retention is no longer a human-resources initiative. It is now a core operational and financial priority.
The conversation focused on how The Alemian Retention System™ strengthens workforce continuity by: aligning long-term financial security with long-term retention stabilizing critical talent and skilled labor teams supporting leaders in building a workforce that stays to accomplish the mission

AI plays a supportive role, but the centerpiece is the retention strategy itself—helping organizations keep the highly skilled people they rely on to deliver quality, continuity, and long-term success.

I’m grateful for BESLER’s recognition and to every leader, team, and organization working to build a more stable and resilient workforce.

This continues to be one of the most important challenges facing healthcare and the skilled-labor economy.

Thank you for being part of the progress.
