A common question we get is whether a .50 BMG upper can work properly with a standard mil-spec AR-15 lower.

The answer comes down to how the recoil energy is managed. In designs like the Raptor 50, the majority of the rearward force is directed into the stock, so the lower receiver primarily handles the trigger and hammer. This is why quality 7075 aluminum mil-spec lowers have proven reliable over many years of use. Our dedicated Single Shot AR-15 lower is also designed to pair cleanly with it.
