It’s not always yelling, chaos, or obvious conflict. Sometimes toxicity is much quieter and much more damaging.

A toxic environment can look like:
Poor communication
Lack of respect
Blame instead of solutions
Fear-based leadership
Gossip and negativity
Burnout becoming “normal”
High turnover and disengaged teams
Employees feeling unheard, undervalued, or stuck

The truth? People rarely leave because the work is hard.
They leave when the environment becomes harder than the work itself.

The #1 mistake people make in interviews.

They answer questions. But they don’t sell their value. I’ve sat on both sides of the table for over 20 years, hiring, training, and building teams.

And here’s something most people don’t realize: Being qualified is NOT what gets you hired. How you communicate your experience is what sets you apart.

I’ve seen incredible candidates:
Downplay their experience, Over-explain irrelevant details and Miss the opportunity to connect their skills to the role, and they walk out thinking, “I think it went well…” But they didn’t stand out.

Here’s the difference:
When you walk into an interview, you’re not there just to answer questions.
You’re there to position yourself as the solution to their problem.
And I’ll say this with confidence.

I have been hired for every interview I’ve gone on in the last 20+ years. Not because I was always the most qualified.

But because I knew how to communicate my value with clarity, confidence, and intention.
