Webinar Name: Practical Tools to Respond to Recent Executive Orders and Changes in NEA Guidelines

When: Monday March 3
Time: 2:30-4:00 CT

Repost of webinar information:

“Together, we’ll explore:

-What do we know now, definitively, about the application of the EOs to the arts and culture sector?
-What remains unclear, or in litigation?
-What changes have taken place at the NEA?
-What does this mean for grantees and applicants
-What do we know now, definitively? What remains unclear?
-What action should we take now, and what can wait?
-As the interpretation and application of the EOs unfold, where should we look for the most timely information?
-What questions do these changes present for arts leaders, and what options are available in response?

Attendees will be introduced to key texts – including the EOs, changes to NEA guidelines, cogent appraisals and evaluations, and other up-to-date information – to help ground decision-making in the most current, accurate information available.

While this session will provide legal analysis and frameworks for organizations to formulate responses, it is not intended, nor should it be construed, as legal advice.”

No cost, registration required. [registration link in stories]

It’s no secret that there’s a shift in the sector. Multiple shifts, affecting multiple things, in multiple ways. From policy changes, new funder priorities, differences in art consumer audiences. There’s A LOT the sector is trying to take in and navigate right now.

While our team is keeping our ear close to the ground to assist our clients in risk and contingency planning - we are learning right along with you! In efforts to expand the resources available we are going to share low to no cost opportunities that are grounded in FACTS, RESEARCH, and professional advice in guiding next steps forward.

- First up on the deck for resource sharing -

“The Equitable Arts Infrastructure Research Group and The University of Texas at Austin College of Fine Arts are hosting a national symposium focused on the enduring challenge of cultural, economic and racial equity in the nation’s performing arts sector. Over two days, through conversations with cultural professionals and humanities scholars, this convening will address gaps in understanding about how performing artists in the U.S. work and how their work is supported systemically. By defining, theorizing and historicizing new methods and approaches to an equitable arts infrastructure, this symposium will create a foundation for new understandings of how educational institutions and cultural professionals can support each other.”

We will post the link to the NO COST LIVESTREAM in our stories. You won’t want to miss this line up of speakers (looking at key note with THE brilliant Dr. Maria Rosario Jackson, former chair of the NEA).

We’d love to hear if you are able to watch any of the sessions and your key takeaways!

Hey Alexa, play “Oh the things you can think!” from Seussical.
🎨🏌️‍♀️⛳️🎭

Working alongside .okc on dreaming, innovating, and creating programming that has NEVER been done before has been realllll good in sharpening our creative brain-and it’s been SO fun to dream big and start to see these dreams start to unfold with the creative work of

While the construction of these future facilities is underway, we are in the background crafting some really exciting programming that we can’t wait to share with our okc community!

🎨⛳️What would a program/activity look like that incorporates golf AND art?! 🎨⛳️

Tell us all the things YOU can think in the comments. We love a good community brainstorm!

A few weeks ago, our team had the enormous pleasure of presenting in NW Arkansas at CommsCon

We got to talk all how the arts sector can effectively create programming that people want (and need) by working through three core steps:

1) Identify and communicate intended impact on the community they serve (outcomes, not outputs 😉)

2) Map out a theory of change.

3) Gather relevant data, analyze, and adjust accordingly.

Our favorite part? Meeting SO MANY new friends and diving into deep conversations around how their arts programming drives necessary impact in their local communities.

Thank you again, Cache, for having us! We loved our time with you.

Congratulations to all of the the organizations across the state who were selected to receive these grant funds!

Oklahoma Arts Management Solutions had the opportunity to provide support for five different organizations in the successful preparation of their grant applications. By working with just a handful of these nonprofits, and hearing first-hand the significant impact these funds will have on the longevity and scalability of their missions, I can confidently say that this funding is truly transformative and will be a pivotal point in history for the Oklahoma arts sector.

No amount of thank you’s and applause will even begin to cover the amount of work and tenacity that was put into making this funding possible.

But simply put, thank you to Oklahoma Arts Council, Allied Arts OKC and Arts Alliance Tulsa. Oklahoma shines brighter because your strong leadership.
