Amazing presentation today by Shannon Ridenour Wildman on Negotiation Methods.
Here are a few things Shannon covered:
1️⃣ Mirroring - Repeating the last few words often in the form of a question
2️⃣ Labels - Giving a label to what is happening in the conversation. Start with, "Seems like"... "Sounds like"...
3️⃣ Dynamic Silence - Strategically pausing so that the other person/people will have room to share more information. The key is fighting the urge to talk during the silence.
All of these methods are for the purpose of learning more details of what the person on the other side of the negotiation is thinking.
