It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the peaceful, yet far too soon, passing of our dear friend and teammate, Grant Bernard.
A visitation will take place on Friday, May 22nd, from 6-9pm at Westview Funeral Home in London, Ontario.

For the past six years, Grant was an essential part of the Indigo Events family, leading our AV production with unmatched talent and creativity.
Right now, our hearts are with Grant’s family, loved ones, and everyone grieving this unimaginable loss. None of this feels fair, and we are struggling to find words big enough.
Behind the professional scenes, Grant always brought his skill, humour, and heart to the table while caring for both our Indigo Events and Top Hat Music clients. He operated with incredibly high ethical standards and was often the first to step in at the last minute to lend a hand, or his mixing skills, when someone had been taken advantage of or ghosted by another DJ.
As a mixer, Grant was truly gifted. Music was part of who he was, and anyone who had the privilege of hearing him perform knows the energy and joy he brought to every crowd. Without hesitation, Grant always knew the perfect song for every situation, and the perfect way to blend it into the moment.
This loss reaches far beyond our company. Grant was deeply respected within the event and entertainment industry, and his absence will be profoundly felt by countless colleagues, partners, artists, clients, and friends who had the opportunity to work alongside him over the years.
Beyond his technical brilliance, Grant was one of the most genuinely kind people you could ever meet. His generous spirit showed itself in the smallest details he remembered about the people he cared about, later presenting themselves through gestures, thoughtful gifts, tailored jokes, or conveniently placed songs if he thought they might make his friends and family smile. He had a way of making everyone around him feel valued and cherished.
Grant was also incredibly witty and could make a room laugh effortlessly with his unique brand of humour that never missed. He had a deep passion for film and could somehow recall the most obscure movie facts imaginable. Did you know parts of Home Alone were filmed inside an empty swimming pool at an abandoned high school? We do, because Grant once watched an entire documentary about it and then relayed every detail back to us during one particularly dull teardown.
He was also an accomplished artist, an avid gamer, a not-so-secret Pokémon expert, and a lover of food and comedy. But above all the qualities that made Grant great, he was a loyal friend, a favourite uncle, a supportive brother, and a cherished son.
Thank you, Grant, for the laughter, the music, the loyalty, the unforgettable memories, and the care you gave so freely to everyone around you. You will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and while the stages will feel quieter without you, your impact on all of us will always be here.
I’ll bet the afterparty just needed a better DJ up there, and in typical Grant fashion, he answered the call. So with that, we’ll play a round of Closing Time in your honour. 🎧
