340B data does not always fit neatly into a clean box.

In this episode of Katy’s 340B Compass, Katy Lees talks about a common statement in the manufacturer data-sharing conversation: that the requested data is simply “the same data” covered entities already send to payers.

But in many 340B programs, the pharmacy claim is submitted for adjudication before the 340B determination has been made. Eligibility may be determined later through accumulation, qualification, replenishment, reversals, and other operational processes.

That timing matters.

This episode looks at why covered entities need to understand their own facts, systems, contracts, patient impact, and compliance concerns when evaluating data-sharing decisions. It also recognizes that there are risks on both sides: risks of submitting data and risks of not submitting data.
