After several requests and a lot of hemming and hawing... we made another batch of Horchata tea. This second run is very similar to the first but is slightly more creamy and aromatic, as I toasted the Ashwaganda more heavily and increased the saffron.

We also changed the name to SLEEPY HORCHATA, versus HORCHATA NIGHTS, as the original felt too Patrick Swayze to me... upon reflection.

Sweet, soft, and creamy with rich and warm notes of cinnamon and vanilla, this is a tea to tuck you in at night. Available now and while supplies last.

Pair this tea with a real book, preferably fiction, as studies suggest fictional novels improve sleep quality. I wonder when they will rebrand them into “wellness novels.”

We made it through the ice storm, only to get knocked out by wind a day later. 6 trees came down, taking out power and internet and blocking our road to the world. After a lot of cutting and hauling and a few nights spent by candle light huddled in front of the wood stove, we are back up and running—at least until the next storm which I suspect is right around the corner.

Oh, and a small slice of orange peel takes National Mint in a lovely direction. While it is a tasty combination with any mint tea it is particularly delicious along side the notes of buckwheat and cacao.

Merry Christmas Everyone.

The past month has been a whirl-wind of cupping, cutting, filling, folding, stamping, setting, writing and wrapping. We shipped a lot of tea to a lot of folks, and from can until can’t, my hands have been busy. Work is worship and I can’t thank you enough.

It is a privilege and honor to make you tea, to share an industry with such lovely people and to be able to support my family by doing what I love.

For our own Christmas I made Nerf gun holsters for my two boys. Modeled after a WWII design and made from felt, leather and brass—these were crafted on the same bench as the teas we shipped to you. And, oddly enough, are a glimpse into the next chapter of ATCO. (no, we are not making Nerf accessories)

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and thank you again for your support.

We want to give props to and the creative force behind it, Teri Gelber.

Tomorrow they will close their doors after 8 years of making artisan teas. This is sad news for us as we deeply respect the company and Teri’s passion for tea, the farmers behind it and the industry we share.

In a world where “artisan” seems to have lost much of its meaning, Teri’s offerings shone true. They were designed around her likes, her tastes and her vision. They were unique and authentic, representing her style and offering a glimpse into her head. They were crafted by her own hands.

Thank you Teri for making and sharing your teas with the world and inspiring us along the way. We wish you the very best.
