Since dating is a professional field for me, I’ve followed this dynamic a lot. There’s quite a few demographics that have emerged.
1. There are the dude bros, the red pill guys who think they own women and should dominate them. The “high value man” children who shave. Andrew Tate.
2. There are the entitled women who demand the world but don’t want to do emotional work or cooperate when asked to compromise. The women who appear on Whatever podcasts.
3. There are the selfish people who are in it to enjoy sensuality and avoid the responsibility of having children. Love Island, the Bachelor, pop culture in general
4. There are the men who faun over women and enable their poor behavior, encouraging toxicity and calling self love. Often male feminists who want in their pants secretly. Probably that one brosky giving you that relationship advice that keeps you single after six months.
5. There are the men who stand up for women proactively in private and in public with no thought of reward. Misha, Tizzy Ent
6. There are the women who stand up for men’s rights and emotional needs, who hold women accountable and shame them for destructive behavior. Emily King, Roma Army, Manicured Mom.
7. There are the male men’s rights activists. Whatever, Men Need To Be Heard, Jordan Peterson
8. There are single people of both genders that just hate all those factions squabbling and that DATING SUCKS. That’s my target demographic right there.
9. And there are those who feel confident navigating it all but are simply naive and learn the hard way. This is also my demographic when they move to the last one.
10. And then there are creeps and predators on both sides. Sexual, financial, emotional, relational. Men and women, old and young can be awful people and they come trussed up in all manner of different styles, grooming, income levels, jobs, cultures, and backgrounds. I STUDY THESE CONSTANTLY TO KNOW HOW TO COMBAT IT BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT A DATING COACH SHOULD BE: A SECURITY/BODY GUARD.
Single, never married, never dated, currently dating. So many possibilities. 40 by these metrics.
It’s not hard to understand how badly DATING SUCKS when you put it in terms like this. Where do you stand? Where do you go, who do you trust? How do you help? How do you get help?
Boundaries. Understanding conflict resolution fixes it all. If you can find someone that you’re attracted to and has conflict resolution skills, you will have a long and happy life.
Hence the introduction of the !FTHEN app. If they say ___ Then you say ____.
Conflict resolution will outweigh any other capacity during a crisis as a generally applicable and useful talent.
You don’t have water? Negotiate. You don’t have a weapon? Negotiate. You upset someone and need help getting out of it? De-escalate.
This ain’t ready for sales. It’s a proof of concept right now. But I can train you on the model in a coaching session and award you access as a beta tester for feedback and your ability to use it on your own.
As Coach Atkins said in my 8th grade basketball practice, “Garrett, don’t hesitate. Dominate!”
