Jose Ismael Bosque, JD, is a seasoned media and legislative affairs professional with over a decade of experience spanning government, law, media management, and cultural advocacy. Currently serving as a Media Relations Specialist for FEMA in the state of Florida, Bosque played a pivotal role in coordinating media operations during Hurricane Michael and Hurricane Irene in 2017. His work includes managing communications for Public Information Officers, conducting interviews across radio, television, and print, and promoting hurricane preparedness through public panels and community events. He is adept at managing complex, time-sensitive projects, distributing press materials across Florida’s diverse media markets, and monitoring local and national coverage to ensure factual accuracy and protect organizational integrity. His bilingual fluency and experience with translation coordination have been instrumental in reaching multilingual communities during critical disaster response efforts. Before joining FEMA, Bosque served as Senior Legislative Aide to Senator Gary Siplin, the first African American Senator from Central Florida. In this role, he directed Senate office operations, supervised committees, conducted legal research, and coordinated press conferences and legislative communications. His legal training and policy acumen have made him a trusted advisor on public affairs and community development. Beyond government service, Bosque has been a driving force in Central Florida’s Latino arts and cultural scene. As the Arts and Events Coordinator for Café D’Antaño, he curated poetry nights, concerts, theatrical productions, and art exhibitions, and launched the first Orlando SANSE Festival. He also supported the founding of Pa’l Callejón in Kissimmee and helped establish Mech Tech Institute’s first Florida campus, promoting it through high-profile events like the World Boxing Championship with Miguel Cotto. In media, Bosque hosted the cultural radio show “Terapia Social” on 1880 AM and served as “Reportero Comunitario” for El Nuevo Día Orlando, spotlighting community issues and Latino artists. His commitment to education and civic engagement is reflected in leadership roles such as Chair of the Education Committee for the Florida Summit of Puerto Rican Affairs, Vice Chair of the Orange County Community Development Board, and member of the Orange County Art Review Board. His contributions have been recognized by Congressman Alan Grayson, Senator Darren Soto, the City of Kissimmee, Casa de Puerto Rico, and the Professional Opportunities Program for Youth. Bosque holds a Juris Doctorate from Barry Law School with a focus on copyrights and a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising from the University of Puerto Rico. A persuasive and articulate communicator, he brings a unique blend of legal insight, cultural fluency, and media expertise to every endeavor.
