As an Army and Iraq War Veteran, former Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, and current Training Specialist with the Department of Veterans Affairs, I have dedicated my career to supporting others in their personal and professional growth. As a Business Mentor, public speaker, and Author, I am committed to sharing my knowledge and experiences to inspire and guide individuals on their entrepreneurial journey. As the Principal at Be Empowered Career Consulting LLC, I provide comprehensive training programs focused on personal and professional growth, side hustle development, and leadership development workshops. In addition to my professional pursuits, I am a dedicated volunteer with Horizon Scholars -Take Stock in Our Children, where I mentor young ladies and help them unlock their full potential. I am also actively involved with the Junior League of Greater Orlando, serving as the Local Advocacy Chair and a member of the Issue Based Community Impact Committee. I hold a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Troy University, by way of the University of Alabama, and a Masters degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Rehabilitation from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. My graduate certificate in e-Learning Design, Development, & Delivery from the University of Central Florida allows me to deliver impactful and engaging training programs. I am proud to be a current participant in Leadership Orlando's Black Boardroom Leadership Institute (BBLI), continuously expanding my knowledge and leadership skills. HOMETOWN HERO?! 🥹💙

Last night the + said, “Come on down,” and gave your girl the VIP treatment.

Best seats in the house? I’d argue YES.
Jumbotron moment? Allegedly. 😂

Because now y’all… my husband did NOT get the Jumbotron pic. And the court photos? Let’s just say they’re giving motion blur chic. But listen — he tried. 😆

At one point I whispered, “Should we invest?”
He didn’t say no… so there’s hope.

In all seriousness — I dream big, I enjoy life, and I believe in supporting others along the way. To whom much is given, much is required. And I carry that with gratitude.

Shoutout to my biggest supporter and wise sounding board. We balance each other well and make sure our dreams are bold and financially responsible. (Somebody has to keep the spreadsheets happy.)

Today, I honor the women whose vision didn’t just shape a moment—it secured our forever. 🩷💚

On January 29, 1913, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® was officially incorporated through the collective leadership and foresight of our incorporators, led by the incomparable Sister Nellie May Quander. They understood something profound: legacy doesn’t survive on passion alone—it requires protection, structure, and intention. And they moved accordingly.

This wasn’t just paperwork.
This was preservation in real time.
This was women boldly safeguarding a sisterhood they knew was bigger than themselves.

113 years later, I walk in the benefits of that decision—grounded in principle, strengthened by preservation, and committed to perpetuity. Grateful beyond words to stand on their shoulders and carry this legacy forward.

I’m still in awe from yesterday.
Witnessing history in the making at the luncheon as my friend was installed as the first Black President was nothing short of powerful.

Knowing her heart, her leadership, and the work she pours into Central Florida makes this moment even sweeter. I am so incredibly proud of you, Mia. This is bigger than a title—it’s legacy, representation, and real impact. 👏🏾✨

Here’s to breaking barriers, opening doors, and reminding the next generation that they belong in every room.
