Work slop is not new.

We have seen it long before AI entered the picture. Sloppy thinking, unchecked work, and rushed delivery existed in every type of organization. AI just amplifies what is already there.

If you move too fast, skip review, and treat quality as optional, the work will reflect that. Blaming AI avoids the real work of fixing culture and structure.

Leaders need to ask better questions.
Is the issue the person?
The culture?
The structure?

Often, it is all three.

This is how AI slop actually happens.

Not because AI is malicious. Not because it is trying to deceive you. But because it guesses confidently when it lacks context.

In this moment, the AI did not check a schedule. It hallucinated one. And if a human had passed that output forward without review, the mistake would have traveled upstream and turned into a real problem.

This is why I push back hard on the idea that AI “saves time.”

AI saves brain space only if you stay engaged, review, and challenge its assumptions.

Unchecked AI doesn’t replace work. It creates more of it.

Leadership still owns quality.

“AI isn’t taking jobs—it’s creating more work.”

And that’s the truth. What comes out still needs eyes, judgment, and human blessing. That’s where leaders and teams come in.

AI is a collaborator, not a replacement. Used well, it sparks new ideas, speeds up ex*****on, and frees time for strategy. But it’s only 98% of the way there. The final 2%? That’s all you.

Quick wins feel good in the moment. But are they sustainable?

As Dr. Jack puts it: AI can amplify those dopamine-hit spikes—good or bad. The difference is in how you use it.

Think chess, not checkers. Don’t just make the first move. Think three moves ahead. AI helps you get there faster, with clarity and strategy that lasts.

Let’s bust a myth: AI isn’t just for Gen Z.

Yes, they adopted it quickly (like millennials did with the internet). But AI is for everyone. Leaders at every level need to see it as a tool to elevate thinking, not just outputs.

It’s not about who uses AI first. It’s about how you use it to bring deeper knowledge, clarity, and strategy forward.

🎥 ChatGPT: Enhancing Core Thinking
AI does not just save time. It saves your brainpower for the work that really matters.

When you collaborate with tools like ChatGPT, you are not delegating your thinking. You are deepening it. You get to focus on strategy, creativity, and clarity while the AI handles the heavy lift of synthesis.

That is not replacement. That is amplification.

Leaders don’t outsource thinking to AI.

AI can help you draft.
Analyze.
Explore possibilities.

But it can’t decide:
-What matters most
-What tradeoffs to make
-What risks are worth taking
-What direction the organization should move

That’s leadership.

AI can support thinking.
It can accelerate research.
It can help teams work faster.

But it cannot replace judgment.

In the Age of AI, the value of leadership doesn’t shrink.

It sharpens.

Because when everyone has access to the same tools, the real differentiator becomes one thing:

The quality of the thinking behind them.

Everyone loves a kickoff meeting.

It’s a new initiative, campaign, system, or plan.

Energy is high. Everyone is optimistic. The goal is clear.

But almost nobody asks the question that actually protects the team.

What could go wrong?

Not as a quick exercise or as a box to check.

But as a real conversation.

Because most initiatives fail for reasons that were completely predictable… if someone had made space to surface them.

Not to kill the idea, but to strengthen it.

The leaders who ask “what could go wrong?” aren’t pessimistic.

They’re prepared.
