Two different looks from equally tough stonecrops!

Both compact plants grow 4 to 6 inches tall and 14 to 18 inches wide. They produce clusters of star-shaped pink flowers in late summer that persist through early fall.

Pollinator friendly, the perennial groundcovers attract bees, butterflies and beneficial insects. Drought tolerant and pest resistent, plant in full sun, in well-draining soil. Ideal in USDA Hardiness Zone 4, but tough for zones 5 to 9.

It's National Dog Day, so we thought we'd share one of our favorite shrubs.

Red-twig dogwood is named for its bright red winter branches and its dense hard wood, which history tells us was once used to make daggers! Today, this beautiful shrub delights with stem color during the otherwise barren winter months and is a favorite holiday decoration.

Plant names make us smile! Cat's Pajamas catmint gets its name from 1920s American slang.

"Cat" was often associated with a person or something "cool." Pajamas were considered a daring fashion statement. Combine the two and you get Cat's Pajamas catmint.

This stylish perennial has indigo-blue flowers from its bottom to the top. And it's simply the bees knees in any style of landscape!
