I had a friend ask the other day "What are you gonna do for you?" And I went on about a few projects, ones for my son, ones for commissions and he he asked again, "Yeah, but what are you doing for you?"

May have noticed my silence - I'm not one to overtly push myself to create if I just am not finding that spark. I'm so glad I found it this past week, ready to get back to channeling my heart's hurt through art.

Fun fact: every appointment I have with my psychiatrist he prescribes art, so I'm just here following doctor's orders.

‘live boldly in the world of pretend’

☀️

The physical restraints and the very real truth that making cut paper art in the way I’ve developed over 15 years… is just not sustainable with my health conditions.

I have leaned into every media possible and revisited my love for photography.

This project is a piece of my heart.

I photographed all the pockets of my home I anticipated my son exploring before he arrived after an overtly extended time away. The second he left, before I touched a thing I grabbed my camera again and captured the blissful mess he left. A particular mess I will always cherish.

My Nikon has been seeing a LOT of action lately - this was a truly healing project for me...
