This is a great Songwriting workflow as it started with an ask, then that inspired the rhythm pattern which inspired the piano accompanyment. My take from this is to find a musical hook and then allow it to sink in and inspire you to create from it. Think of it as the seed of your song.

I've always enjoyed the process of writing a song, you never know what is going to come out of it. This little snippet of an interview is in alignment with how I feel about it.

Happy Saturday morning, for several months I've been going down a list of updates. This morning is one that upgrades the pro lyric studio (MSQ Pro) and it's connection with the "Sage AI" agent. Now I must point out here that all AI agents on MSQ have been hard coded to assist in creating and not to actually do the work for you. You can work with an agent like Sage but it will only offer suggestions to improve upon your current original composition. This upgrade will make things easier if for example you've worked on a chord progression inside of the agent chat and you want to copy/ paste or replace an existing chord line. This upgrade will allow you to do that.

Happy Fall and Winter of 2026. I have been involved in a few projects other than MSQ. That said, I haven't completely abandoned the MSQ project; in fact, I am going through the list of priority upgrades for the site.

A new member reported that admin emails weren't being sent. That report was valid. The member will be rewarded. The admin email fix is underway and is pending.

Whether you are a free or paid member, your participation on the site is appreciated and valued. Please encourage others to join; I would like to see the membership grow so more songwriters, lyricists, musicians, and music professionals can connect and collaborate on projects created on MSQ or elsewhere.

Regards,

Mr P.

Sierra Ferrell is an amazingly talented Singer Songwriter. A fast rising star. The more I hear her music and performance the more intrigued I am to hear more. She has this vaudeville style of bluegrass country that's unlike anything I've heard and I think that is just what we need to keep our interest in live performance on fire.

Happy Memorial day weekend!
I am currently working on MySongQuest.com. I am improving the health, error reporting, security, and other backbone structures to help strengthen the site. This will improve the user experience, but it is nothing that will pop out and make you really notice it.

In the past two months, I've scaled back my activity on MSQ, taking breaks and redirecting creative energy by doing something else. It keeps the engine on, and it helps to discover new and refreshing ideas.

If you see or experience anything weird while on the site, please do reach out.

Enjoy!

Mr. P

There comes a time when you should forget about what everyone else is doing and just be your original self. The key is knowing when you are ready to break away.

Then there's the Monkeys. This is an advert for AARP but what a great interview clip.

When collaborating with cowriters and producers and hiring session musicians, make sure everyone is aware of the splits. Fill out a split sheet. If you're not sure what it looks like, there's a a usable example in the projects section at mysongquest.com

A flashback to the day I signed the paperwork that finally brought my songs back. It was a very very special day when that happened.

I never owned the songs I wrote. Sometimes I still can’t believe it. It was a really long journey, but after 56 years, it feels so good having them back home where they belong.
