The usual advice is to find a motivated seller, get a contract, and then go looking for someone to buy it. Chris teaches it the other way around, and that buyers-first approach is part of how he has completed more than 600 deals in virtual markets.

The SOP was not the problem.

The person reading it was.

Give a maverick a process and they will improve it until nobody else can follow it.

For support roles I do not hire people like me. I hire the profile that is wired to hold a standard and make everyone around them hold it too.

Then I hand them seven steps and a three minute video.

If your procedures keep dying, you may not have a documentation problem.

An SOP does not create accountability.

A weekly report does.

In the Marine Corps somebody is always standing there to correct you. In your business, nobody is standing there.

Most owners have a folder full of procedures. Almost none of them can tell you whether a single one was followed last week.
