With experience in home health since 2007, Ashley specializes in revenue cycle management, denied claims, RTP corrections, appeals, and accounts receivable (AR) reconciliation.

After managing billing operations for 12 agencies, she founded Pinnacle RCM to bring greater accuracy, accountability, and financial transparency to home health and hospice billing.

A missing Notice of Admission (NOA) can cost a home health agency more than just time. It can cost actual Medicare reimbursement.

Under Medicare home health billing rules, NOAs generally must be submitted within five calendar days of the start of care. Late submissions can result in a payment reduction for the days between the start of care and the day before the NOA is submitted.

We recently discovered that an agency's required NOAs had not been filed, putting its reimbursement at risk.

When we requested a policy-based explanation from the former billers, we received deflection instead of accountability. So we shifted our focus to what mattered: supporting the agency owner and addressing the billing risk.
