I have also been making my own plastics for about 2 years now and I have been nailing some colors lately with the correct mixes and translucency. The biggest takeaway I have had is that the translucency makes a breaks the different colors you see in a single injection pour.

I spent the afternoon painting some jigs. I have been making my own jigs and plastics for just over a year. I cannot tell you how rewarding it has been to catch fish on the stuff you make!

Spent a couple days with the Crawfords chasing around a variety of fish. Day 1 most fish were put off and not much of anything was willing to go. The panfish came to play at the end trip for some nice fish to take home. Day 2 started the same and I thought we were in for the long haul, but persistence paid off and they were rewarded with some nice fish! The bite has slowed, but they are still catchable if you’re moving around and finding an active pod. Availability is limited for the rest of June, however July and August are pretty open. The fish will still be catchable then as well.

Alan, Steve, and Kyle spent 3.5 days with me for a fishing trip getaway. The target species was walleye and the mission was successful. The group landed 62 walleyes on various lakes in the Park Rapids area! Most of the fish were released besides some meals they wanted to take home. We targeted large groups of fish relating to structure but not necessarily on the structure with slip bobbers and livescope. When the bobber goes down it still makes you feel like a kid! Jackie, Phil, and stephanie joined me for multiple days this last week we took advantage of everything we could. Certain species were tough so we chased what was biting that day! We ended up getting into the walleyes for a couple of the days and bass on the “off” days. Stephanie took home big fish honors with a 26.25” walleye. She would like to challenge you to fish with me and beat that record for the season!
