I lived this cycle for almost 30 years.
Y2K.
9/11.
The housing crash.
Pandemic.
Grid scare headlines every six months.
Same pattern. Different decade.
A good man feels the shift.
He senses responsibility rising.
He opens his phone… and suddenly he’s behind.
More gear.
More warnings.
More urgency.
I’ve been in preparedness since the mid to late ’90s.
And here’s what I learned the hard way:
Buying before thinking creates tension inside a house.
A calm plan creates confidence.
That’s why I wrote Before You Buy Anything.
Not a gear list.
Not a panic manual.
Not fear dressed up as wisdom.
It’s about slowing down long enough to build order first.
Because your family doesn’t need a frantic provider.
They need a steady one.
If you’ve felt that pressure lately, you’re not crazy.
But you also don’t have to react to it.
Build calm. Then build capability.
