The Brutal Irony of Business Consulting

A business owner brings in consultants, boasting about massive year-over-year growth.

He says he just needs help building infrastructure to keep up with the demand.

But within weeks, the truth comes out.

There is no massive growth.
No surging success.
Just smoke, mirrors, and a team on the verge of mutiny.

The business is barely holding on—

…not because of market conditions.
…not because of competition.

But because of one thing: his leadership.
Behind closed doors, he’s toxic.
Verbally abusive.
Paranoid and controlling.

And his best people?

They’re exhausted… and quietly preparing their exit.

The consultants deliver the truth:

“You are the problem.
Your behavior must change.
Or your business—and your team—won’t survive.”

The owner gets offended.
Plays the victim.
Blames everyone but himself.
He refuses to change.
Refuses to lead.

And finally… refuses to pay.

The consultants walk.
The team follows.
Top talent walks out the door, and with them—so do the clients.

Revenue tanks.
Operations crumble.
And the “successful” business becomes just another sad story of self-sabotage.

Moral of the story:

You can’t scale your business past the person leading it.

You are either…

Jesus isn’t your sales funnel.
But that hasn’t stopped self-proclaimed “Kingdom Coaches” from using Him like one.

They’re charging 5-figures for “faith-based” business programs promising divine strategies, guaranteed success, and breakthrough in a box.

They’ve mastered Christianese:
📖 Sprinkle some scripture
🙏 Mention “God’s calling”
💸 Guilt hardworking believers into buying their “anointed” offer

Here’s the hard truth:
Using Jesus to sell while overpromising and underdelivering isn’t Kingdom—it’s manipulation.

How do I know?
Because I recently fired one of these charlatans.

His “mentorship” was generic, regurgitated fluff wrapped in spiritual lingo.
His course? A dozen weak 2–5 min Loom videos—less value than a Shark Tank rerun.

When I confronted him about the lack of results, his response?
“Bro… can we just pray right now?”

Thousands lost.
But lesson learned.

Not all who claim Kingdom are truly building it.

Let’s be clear:
📛 Faith is not a gimmick.
📛 The cross is not a brand asset.
📛 Jesus did not die so they could sell $10K coaching packages with a “Holy Spirit guarantee.”

Coaching isn’t the problem.
Spiritual manipulation is.

If someone has to hijack your faith to close the sale, they’re not building the Kingdom—they’re building their income, with your obedience as the weapon.

Discern wisely.
Ask the hard questions.
Look for fruit, not just faith-talk.

Kingdom business isn’t built on hype.
It’s built on truth, service, and real results.

To that “Kingdom Coach”…
You know who you are. (In grace, I won’t name you.)

Didn’t sell a business for 1,000,000x EBITDA.
