Advocating for yourself doesn’t mean being difficult or demanding. It means recognizing that your voice belongs in the conversations that affect your life.

Speak about your contributions at work.
Ask for what you need.
Set the boundary.
Have the uncomfortable conversation.
Say no when necessary.

Not every request will be granted, and not everyone will understand your decisions. But you don’t have to silence yourself to make other people comfortable.
Use your voice. It matters. 💜

I think women—especially mothers—are sometimes made to feel uncomfortable saying, “I want to make more money.”

But wanting financial security isn’t greed.

Sometimes more money means not panicking when the car needs repairs.

It means having an emergency fund.

It means being able to put your child in an activity without wondering which bill has to wait.

It means saving for retirement, taking the vacation, investing, giving generously or walking away from a situation that no longer serves you.

And for a single mother, having options can feel especially powerful when so many decisions rest on your shoulders.

The goal isn’t money just for the sake of saying you have it.

The goal is building a life where money gives you choices instead of constantly limiting them.

That’s a conversation I want us to have more often.

What would greater financial freedom allow you to do differently?

It’s easy to tell yourself, “I’ll be happy when this is over.”

When the money is better.
When the job comes through.
When the situation with your child gets easier.
When you finally get the answer you’ve been waiting for.
When life feels more settled.

But some seasons take longer than we expected.

And I don’t want to postpone experiencing joy until every problem in my life has been solved.

Joy doesn’t mean pretending everything is okay.

Sometimes joy is laughing with your child in the middle of a stressful week. It’s buying yourself flowers. Taking the walk. Celebrating a small win. Calling the friend who makes you laugh. Thanking God for what is good while still praying about what isn’t.

Hard seasons deserve to be acknowledged.

They just don’t deserve every beautiful part of you.

What is bringing you joy right now, even if life isn’t perfect? 💜

For a long time, survival may have looked like success.

You paid the bills.
You took care of your children.
You went to work.
You handled the emergencies.
You figured it out, because you had to.

And somewhere along the way, constantly being the strong one became normal.

But there comes a season when the goal can be more than simply making it through.

You can rest without feeling guilty.
You can spend money on something you enjoy.
You can take the trip.
You can pursue the dream.
You can make room for love, friendship, joy and experiences that have nothing to do with surviving.

You worked hard to create stability. You deserve to experience the life that stability was supposed to make possible.

Survival may have been part of your story, but it doesn’t have to be the rest of it.

What does actually living look like for you in this season?

Somewhere along the way, many mothers learn to put themselves last.

First, make sure the kids are okay.
Make sure the bills are paid.
Make sure everyone has what they need.
Make sure everything gets done.

And then, if there’s any time, energy or money left over, maybe you’ll do something for yourself.

But what if your children also need to see you live?

They need to see you pursue the goal. Take care of yourself. Build financial security. Develop meaningful relationships. Rest without guilt. Laugh. Travel. Try something new. Change your mind. Dream bigger.

Motherhood is an important part of who you are, but it doesn’t have to be the only part.

And wanting a full life doesn’t mean you love your children any less. It means you’re showing them that becoming a mother doesn’t require a woman to stop becoming herself.

✨ You don’t have to wait until the kids are older.
✨ You don’t have to wait until life gets easier.
✨ You don’t have to wait until everyone else needs less from you.

Your life is happening now, too.

💜 What’s something you’ve been telling yourself you’ll do “someday”?

One thing I wish more women understood: experience does not disqualify you from starting something new. It can actually prepare you for it.

So many of us reach a certain point in our careers and think, “I’ve already put too much time into this to change now.”

But what if those years weren’t time you lost?

What if they were years you spent developing skills, confidence, relationships and wisdom that you can carry into your next chapter?

A career pivot doesn’t erase everything you’ve accomplished. And it doesn’t always mean starting over from zero.

Sometimes it means finally being honest enough to admit that what worked for one season of your life doesn’t fit the woman you’ve become.

Especially for women in their 40s and beyond, I want us to stop treating age like an expiration date on ambition.

You are allowed to evolve.

You are allowed to learn something new.

And you are allowed to build a career that looks completely different from the one you originally planned.

It’s not too late to pivot.

Have you ever made a major career change? What did it teach you?

Some of us became strong because we didn’t have another option.

We learned how to stretch the money.
How to make the hard decisions.
How to keep going when we were exhausted.
How to figure things out without having anyone to rescue us.

And those survival skills served us well.

But survival was never supposed to be the destination.

There comes a point when the same strength you used to make it through can be used to build something different.

More financial stability.
More peace.
More opportunities.
More support.
More room to actually enjoy the life you worked so hard to create.

You don’t have to keep choosing struggle simply because struggle is familiar.

You survived that season. Now give yourself permission to build the next one.

What does “something better” look like for you in this season?

There’s so much of motherhood that no one sees.

The decisions you make before anyone else wakes up.
The appointments you remember.
The bills you calculate.
The things you go without.
The conversations you replay because you want to make sure you handled them the right way.

And when you’re a single mom, so many of those decisions stop with you.

There isn’t always someone beside you to ask, “What do you think we should do?” Sometimes you have to trust yourself, make the call and keep moving.

That responsibility can feel heavy. But it also reveals just how capable you are.

You are creating stability. You are making a home. You are making decisions today that can shape your child’s tomorrow.

So give yourself credit for the things no one applauds. The little decisions matter, too.

Because someone is watching, learning and depending on you.

What’s one part of the mental load of single motherhood that you wish more people understood?

Single moms are used to making things happen, but constantly operating in survival mode is not the only way to succeed.

Sometimes your next level is not about doing more. It is about creating systems that make life feel more manageable.

That might mean:

✨ Automating your bills
✨ Preparing meals in advance
✨ Setting firmer boundaries
✨ Sharing responsibilities
✨ Protecting uninterrupted time for your goals

You do not have to prove your strength by remaining overwhelmed.

The goal is not simply to build a successful life. It is to build one you have the capacity to enjoy. 💜

✨ What is one task you could simplify, automate, or ask for help with this week?

My daughter has watched me navigate seasons that didn’t always look successful from the outside.

She has seen me work, sacrifice, adjust, start over and keep moving forward, even when I wasn’t completely sure how everything would work out.

For a long time, I thought building a legacy was primarily about what I could leave behind financially.

But legacy is also what our children learn by watching us live.

I hope my daughter learns that she can be nurturing and ambitious. That asking for help doesn’t make her weak. That financial confidence can be developed. That boundaries are healthy. And that her dreams do not expire because life takes an unexpected turn.

✨ I’m not building a perfect life for her to admire.

✨ I’m building an honest one that shows her what is possible when a woman continues to believe, grow and begin again.

What is one lesson you hope your child learns from watching your journey?
