Here’s an interesting fundraising idea we picked up at a conference today from Glen Fladaboe…. A statistic shared during his session showed mission-based participation increasing from 51% to 61% when a “paddle drop” was included at the end of a fundraising appeal.

What’s a paddle drop?

At the end of the Fund-A-Need, after we’ve worked through the established giving levels, we give everyone who hasn’t participated one final opportunity:

“If you believe in this mission and haven’t raised your paddle yet, raise it now and make a gift at any amount that is meaningful to you.”

That final gift might be $25, $50 or $75—and that’s okay.

Because sometimes the goal isn’t just raising another dollar. It’s getting another person invested in the mission.

That first $25 gift today could lead to a $250 gift next year, a sponsorship several years from now, or even a lifelong supporter of the organization.

It’s a small addition to a paddle raise that could have a big impact.

Raise the money. Increase participation. Build future donors.

And we’re off! 🎤🎗️

The fall fundraising season is officially underway for Bowtie Benefit Auctions, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start!

We kicked things off in the beautiful mountains of Cashiers, NC, celebrating our fourth year with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Four years with the same organization is something we’re incredibly proud of, and it’s always great to be back with this group.

Then it was home to Greenville, SC, for our second Evening of Hope with Touched by ALS. There’s something special about returning for year two, building on the previous year, and watching an event continue to grow.

And we’re just getting started!

This weekend, we’re headed to Columbia, SC, for the Special Olympics South Carolina Gala — another incredible organization and mission that we’re excited to support.

Three events. Three great missions. Three communities coming together to make a difference.

We love what we get to do, but even more, we appreciate the organizations that trust us with some of the most important minutes of their fundraising year.

Here’s to a busy fall, full rooms, raised paddles, and a whole lot of money raised for some incredible causes! 🎤🙌
