The storm passed.
The damage stayed behind.

Deep ruts. Mud. Base failure.

This one didn’t need a quick gravel cover-up. It needed a full BASE RESET.

We brought in the T66, reworked the foundation, power raked the surface, topped with dense-grade aggregate, and power rolled it tight using the iRock Solid Method.

Built to handle weather.
Built to handle traffic.
Built to last.

🎥 Watch the transformation.

Pool season is here. ☀️

Spent the day carving this one in with the mini X and tilt bucket using the Rock Solid Method:

• Cut, not built-up fluff
• Clean grade work
• Proper prep before installation

A little dirt work up front saves a whole lot of headaches later when 50,000 lbs of water shows up.

Water always wins eventually. The trick is convincing it to go somewhere else before it turns your property into a mud wrestling arena.

This project started as severe erosion and runoff along the driveway edge and lower slope. Multiple water sources were feeding the same problem:

Surface runoff
Gutter drains
Foundation drainage
Basement drain discharge
Saturated hillside flow

iRock Excavation designed and installed a full subsurface collection drainage system to intercept, transport, and safely discharge the water before it could continue cutting channels through the yard.

This one included:

• Multi-point surface collection basins
• Curtain drain installation
• Solid transport lines for high-volume roof runoff
• Foundation and basement drainage tie-ins
• Fabric-wrapped French drain system
• Riprap armored discharge outlet
• Full finish grading and erosion stabilization
• Seed and straw restoration

Everything was laid out with serviceability and long-term flow in mind. Water was tested through the system before final completion to verify proper discharge and flow direction. Because unlike some contractors, we prefer discovering problems before the customer does.

Strange concept these days.

The end result:
✔ Controlled runoff
✔ Reduced erosion
✔ Improved drainage around structures
✔ Clean finished appearance
✔ A system built to last, not just survive until the check clears

Drainage problems rarely fix themselves. They usually just get more expensive and uglier over time.

2.6 inches of rain in just a few hours…

And this is exactly what it does to a yard when water has nowhere to go.

That bare area isn’t “just bad grass”
—it’s water collecting, sitting, and slowly washing everything out.

So here’s the fix:

We’re installing a Subsurface Collection Drain System to grab that water underground and move it where it actually belongs.

Not just covering it up.
Not just hoping it dries out.
Fixing the problem at the source.

Right now we’ve got the trench cut and pipe laid out, but I’m holding off on finishing until things dry up.

Could I push through and wrap it up today?
Yeah.

Would it be right?
No.

Wet ground = bad compaction = future failure.

And I don’t do call-backs because something was rushed.

Little bit of redneck ingenuity, a lot of experience, and doing it the right way the first time.

If you’ve got spots in your yard that stay wet, wash out, or just won’t grow… there’s a reason.

📸 Send me a picture and I’ll tell you what’s really going on.

Before ➡️ After

This driveway wasn’t “a little rough”… it was failing.

Washed out base

Ruts holding water

Constant patching that never lasts

We fixed it the right way using the iRock Rock Solid Method:

✔️ Reworked the base
✔️ Power raked and reshaped
✔️ Added fresh DGA top layer
✔️ Compacted it so it actually stays put

No fluff. No band-aids.

If you’re tired of dumping gravel on the same problem every year, it’s time to fix it for real.

⚠️ I’ll be straight with you: There’s a cheap way to make it look better… …and there’s the right way to make it last.
I offer both. Your call.

🚨 Makes the neighbors drive by uncomfortably slow…

This entrance was tight, failing, and the culvert was completely clogged. Water had nowhere to go, and it was only getting worse.

We came in and: ✔️ Removed the old pipe (completely packed full)

✔️ Installed new culvert
✔️ Extended the crossing to 50 ft for proper trailer access
✔️ Rebuilt the base with DGA and compacted it tight
✔️ Added riprap for long-term erosion control
✔️ Cleaned and re-established the ditch for proper flow

Now it drains right, drives right, and looks the way it should’ve from the start.
No fluff. Just done right.

Rock Solid.

Not all driveway work is created equal.

We’ve been seeing more and more jobs lately that had to be redone way sooner than they should’ve. Thin gravel, no base, no compaction… looks good for about a week, then reality sets in.

The truth is, doing it cheap the first time usually ends up costing more when it has to be fixed.

At iRock, we focus on doing it right from the ground up. Proper prep, solid base, and a finish that actually holds up. It’s not the fastest way, and it’s not the cheapest way, but it’s the way that lasts.

If you’re planning a project this year, make sure you’re getting a solution… not just a quick cover-up.

The Rock Solid Method does it again.

Another one brought back to life… the kind that makes the neighbors drive by uncomfortably slow.

This driveway was starting to break down with ruts, thin spots, and poor drainage.

We regraded it to restore the proper shape and topped it with fresh DGA to lock everything in.

The Rock Solid Method does it again.

Now it’s smooth, drains the way it should, and looks like it’s always been there.
Simple fix. Big difference.

Warning: may cause driveway envy.

Not every driveway needs a full rebuild.

This one had most of its wear right where it sees the most traffic—up near the carport.

We regraded the area to bring it back into shape and finished it with a fresh layer of DGA to tighten everything up.

Now it ties in clean and looks like it’s always been that way.

Simple fix. Done right.
