With the announcement naming our owner as the new Executive Director of The Orpheum Theatre, it does mean that our time as a venue in The MAXAM Building is at an end. The Waterhouse will continue on as a producing entity for Central Illinois Dueling Pianos & Greg Batton's - Life. In Boxes.
20 years has been a pretty darn good run overall as during this time, The Waterhouse has presented over 1,000 private events (SO MANY wedding receptions!!!) and 850 performances. Equally important, we have employed more than 200 fantastic people both FT and PT with Millions of dollars in payroll!
As we close this chapter, all we can say is THANK YOU & watch for upcoming show announcements both at The Orpheum Theatre and at other venues throughout Central Illinois!!
We're excited to announce that The Orpheum Theatre has a new Executive Director!!! Meet Andrew Driscoll, a skilled actor, director and theatre manager, with years of experience under his belt. The Orpheum Board is looking forward to Andrew's time at the Theatre!
“I am honored and thrilled to begin the next chapter of my life with this opportunity to return to my greatest passions – entertainment and the preservation of our historic theatres. Not only does the stunning Orpheum Theatre in Galesburg have that, but equally importantly, it has a community that cherishes, embraces, and supports it. It has partners in Civic and business leadership who recognize its value and seek through their vocal and financial support to keep its integral role of providing a historic venue for the arts, entertainment, and culture thriving and relevant for future generations. And it has a dedicated, loyal, and passionate team of staff and Board who are engaged and ready for the challenge of taking on The Orpheum’s next chapter.” says Andrew Driscoll.
