On September 11, 2001, the world witnessed an event that forever changed the course of history. The horrendous attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the crash of Flight 93 in Pennsylvania resulted in the loss of nearly 3,000 lives. We all remember where we were in those hours.

This day is etched in our collective memory as a moment of profound sorrow and resilience. Amidst the devastation, countless acts of heroism emerged. First responders, firefighters, police officers, search and rescue animals and ordinary citizens displayed extraordinary courage, risking their lives to save others.

The impact of 9/11 extended far beyond the United States. It was a day that united people across the globe in grief and solidarity. Nations came together to condemn terrorism and support one another in the face of adversity.

Personally, it is heartbreaking to witness what is happening in our country now and the intense division politics and social media has done to our lives. Let's just set aside all the politics today and remember this day with the heart of who we were in 2001.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to say a huge thank you to all my friends and family. Your birthday wishes made my day special. I’m blessed to have such wonderful people in my life. Here’s to another year of cherished moments and memories! I totally stayed away from my computer and just spent my day with my granddaughters in the sun and getting excited about my daughter's pregnancy. I can't tell you how excited I am to be a memom again!

When I grew up in Kensington,
Going back so many years.
I never thought I'd think of it,
While holding back my tears.
The Avenue is where I shopped,
And on the corners where I hung.
Those golden days of city life,
In days when I was young.
A snowball was a special treat,
And a pretzel was a nickel.
Or if I wanted something else,
i'd have a Jewish pickle.
Some families had no car back then,
And gas was just a quarter.
And now it cost a couple bucks,
To drink some bottled water.
The neighborhood has changed since then,
That life will never be.
That life we had in Kensington,
That life for you and me.
I took a ride some time ago,
Through the place I once called home,
Down Avenues and city streets.
That once were safe to roam.
Then my wife rolled up her window,
And my daughter locked her door.
Aren't you glad my daughter said,
"That you don't live here any more."
Yes I said. I guess I am.
But those days were so much fun.
And I wouldn't change them for the world,
Those days in Kensington.

The angel's led her back into the arms of my dad (who passed away just 4 months ago on October 3, 2023) for all eternity at the break of dawn on February 8, 2024

My parents were together since 1955
Her heart was breaking. She missed him terribly and oh so lonely without him. All she wanted was to be with him again. It's comforting to know they are with each other again for all eternity.

🎄 MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄

I need to share some amazing Christmas morning news...

My granddaughter received the greatest news and the best Christmas suprise while we were opening gifts this morning.

She got a text from Thomas Jefferson University. She got into Jefferson Medical School and received a 90k scholarship to boot. I'm beside myself with Joy for her. I am a very proud memom right now.

Look at her reaction the moment she realized she was accepted. Look behind her at the man in the photo literally above her right shoulder. The guardian angel of the Hoffman house, her great grandfather. 😢 ❤️ 😭
