Pennsylvania took a major step forward in protecting students and school communities when Governor Josh Shapiro signed Senate Bill 375 into law as Act 17 of 2026. The legislation, referred to as Greg Moyer’s Law, strengthens Automated External Defibrillator (AED) requirements and emergency preparedness in schools across the Commonwealth. Allegiance CPR & Training commends the Moyer family for working tirelessly to pass this very important legislation in honor of Greg.
The new law:
✅ Establishes a statewide AED program for schools.
✅ Requires AED availability at school athletic events and practices.
✅ Strengthens CPR and AED education requirements.
✅ Requires schools to develop and practice emergency action plans for cardiac emergencies.
✅ Expands support through school safety and security initiatives.
