To all those who sponsored and encouraged me during September's Great Cycle Challenge, here are some interesting stats collected. The top rider rode 1,848 miles. Talk a real pain in the butt!

Just read through some of these. If this doesn't inspire you to human kindness and nature, I'm not sure what will.

If you want to donate, you still have time. Here's the link:

I'm working on my strategy for the Great Cycle Challenge starting in a few days (Sept 1). I have to pedal 75 miles per week to reach the 300 mile goal. Based upon my schedule, that breaks down to 3 25-mile rides per week. So I decided to float a trial balloon today and pedaled a 25+ mile route. I did survive, otherwise, I would not be typing this now.

I did make the "Big" board in Time Square, NY, NY for the 5th year in a row (Picture below from the Time Square 30 second claim to fame). I really need to update the picture though. Soul patch is long gone (my wife didn't think I was cool enough for one) and at least 30 pounds lost since then - southern living is doing well for weight maintenance.

I'm still looking for sponsors. I'm making progress toward my $1000 goal, but still need some much needed help. Here's the link:

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I've signed up for the 2024 Great Cycle Challenge and will be riding this September to fight kids' cancer! My goal is to pedal 300 miles throughout the month. This is my fifth year riding. I hope ya'll (yinz for my Pittsburgh area friends) can help me reach my goal.

Why am I doing this? Because cancer is the largest killer of children from disease in the United States – 38 children die of cancer every week. As a cancer survivor, I understand the emotional toll it takes on a family. It has to be worse for parents when it is one of their children.

My challenge will be tough, but it's nothing compared to what these brave kids and their families face every day of their lives as they battle this terrible disease.

Kids should be living life, NOT fighting for it.

And so I am taking on this challenge to end childhood cancer and save little lives.

Please support me by making a donation today.
All funds raised will support Children's Cancer Research Fund to continue their work to develop innovative treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Thank you for your support.

Have you ever have someone say something that impacted your life? I have.

Over 40 years ago, I had a conversation with a gentleman (don't remember his name) that caused me to think about his statement ever since. Upon thinking about his statement, I have discovered some pretty amazing things in life.

What was his statement? He said, "The most important thing to me in life is thinking. In fact, thinking about thinking. Think about thinking." And since that time, I have been thinking about thinking.

Over those 40+ years, I have learned 9 different thinking strategies (there are more) I have employed during my working and personal life. I use various thinking strategies. I employ different strategies, and in some cases, several strategies to solve various problems depending on the circumstances. Note: not all situations are solved by critical thinking.

I started to document my thoughts on thinking with short descriptions of the various strategies a few years back, but never completed the series. Now that I am between contracts and have some extra time, I decided to get back at it and finish the series. I recently posted an article about Critical Thinking. I often hear people say, "We need to think critically" or "We need to improve our critical thinking" without fully understanding Critical Thinking is just one of many thinking strategies.

Here is a link to the Critical Thinking post: https://pmterms.com/analytic-or-critical-thinking/

If you want to start with the overview post listing the 9 strategies, here is the link: https://pmterms.com/think-about-thinking-9-thinking-modalities/

Whether you read my posts or not, I encourage you to "think about thinking." May that simple statement impact your life positively as it did mine.

Thinking About Thinking: 9 Thinking Modalities Have you ever thought about thinking? Probably the most impactful statement said to me in my life was from a gentleman whose name I don’t remember. He remarked, “You think the most important thing in life is faith. I think the most important thing i...

I'm dedicating myself to riding 300 miles (a combination of indoor and outdoor riding) this September raising money to fight cancer in kids. As a side benefit, I'll get in better shape and hopefully shed some pounds. I am a cancer survivor and I know the emotions families go through when the C word enters the home. I'm riding in honor of my father who passed away from cancer and for all those kids who are suffering through this disease.

I'm looking for sponsors. I'll gladly accept $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $1000, and even larger donations.

If there any cyclists out there who want to form a team with me, let me know. A team keeps its members motivated.

See the link below for more details. Between now and September, I'll be looking for sponsors.

Thanks in advance for your help.

As you may know, I'm an adjunct professor at Penn State Abington campus. As such, I interact with many Millennial and Generation Z aged people. Last spring, I and several students conducted a study to determine what leadership traits the Millennial generation look for in managers. My website, ameagle.com, contains articles describing our findings.

This semester, I am working with students to understand a hypothesis stating it was the way the older generation in raising the Millennials and Generation Z children which created the stereotypes associated with the younger generations. Help me in this study by taking a 5 minute survey from the older generation perspective. Thank you. I really appreciate it. Here is the link. No personal or identifying information is asked.

I published the next article in my series concerning Millennial Leadership - "Has the Older Generations Created the Millennial Leadership Dilemma?" I think many of the problems older generations are experiencing with the Millennial generation workers were self-induced. We trained our children to be independent thinkers and now, when they don't think the way we do, we feel there is a problem. Learn some of the factors that may have lead to our current dilemma.
