The theme this year is AI 3.0: Practical AI for Real Results, and that's exactly the kind of conversation I believe matters most right now. Not AI hype. Not theory. Real tools that help real businesses save time, work smarter, and stop drowning in tasks that could be running on their own.

The summit is hosted by the Small Business Council of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce () at DeSales University.

Here's what I know from working with small businesses every day: the gap between "curious about AI" and "actually using it" is usually smaller than people think. Sometimes it just takes one clear conversation to see where the time is going and what a simpler workflow could look like.

That's what this panel is about. Practical steps. Honest answers. No jargon.

If you're a business owner in the Lehigh Valley and you've been wondering where AI fits into your day-to-day, this is a morning worth showing up for.

Tickets: $69 for Chamber members / $139 for future members

Someone slid into my LinkedIn DMs this week to tell me I was "the most beautiful, classiest woman" he had ever seen.

He mentioned his 22 years in modeling. He said he had never sent a message like this before.

I sat with it for a minute.

Not because it was threatening. But because of where it landed. This is my workspace. This is where I show up as a consultant, a speaker, a professional who spent 13 years inside C-suites before building a business. And someone reduced all of that to how I look in a headshot.

Here is what I know from those 13 years: Executive Assistants deal with this more than most people realize.

You are visible. You are the face attached to your executive's calendar. You respond quickly, you communicate warmly, and sometimes people mistake professional presence for personal invitation.

Most EAs I know handle it quietly. They ignore it, delete it, move on. They do not want to make it a thing.

But here is what I want to say to every EA reading this:
Your LinkedIn profile is a professional asset. Protect it like one. You do not owe a response to every message that arrives. You are allowed to set the tone for how people engage with you in professional spaces. And you are absolutely allowed to name it when something feels off, even if no one else would.

You built your reputation carefully. Do not let someone else reframe it in a DM.

Has this happened to you? How did you handle it? I am genuinely curious.

The most common mistake business owners make when they get serious about automation.

They try to do everything at once.

New CRM. New email system. New chatbot. New invoicing workflow. All at the same time. All in one month.

And then nothing works properly, the team is confused, and the whole project gets abandoned because it created more chaos than it solved.

The owners who get lasting results almost always follow the same pattern.

One automation per month. Set it up. Let it run for three or four weeks. Fix the edges. Confirm it is saving what you expected it to save. Then add the next one.

Twelve months later, they have twelve working automations, each one solid, each one saving real time.

Twelve months later, the business owner who tried to do everything at once has usually gone back to doing things manually.

Slow and deliberate wins this one. Pick one thing. Do it well. Then move to the next.

What is the one automation you would build first if you started this month?

Knowing your bank balance and knowing your business are two different things.

A bank balance tells you what happened. Your KPIs tell you what is happening, and what is coming.

Lead volume trending up or down. Proposal conversion rate. Average response time. Client retention over 90 days.

These numbers exist in your business right now. They are just scattered and rarely assembled until something goes wrong.

An automated weekly summary, landing in your inbox every Monday, changes that. Not a dashboard to log into. Just the picture, already put together.

The business owners who scale calmly are usually the ones who stopped managing the past and started reading the present.

If your weekly decisions are mostly based on gut and bank balance, there is a better way.

You don't need to be "tech-savvy" to use AI well.

You just need a starting point that makes sense.

Most business owners I talk to have the same worry. They think everyone else figured this out already. They picture some complicated dashboard or a coding screen, and they quietly decide it's not for them.

But here's what I've learned working with real small business owners: the ones who get the most out of AI aren't the most technical. They're the ones who started with one simple step instead of trying to learn everything at once.

That's what this graphic is about. The AI Proficiency Stack.

It's five levels, and the bottom one has nothing to do with writing fancy prompts. It starts with giving the AI context about your business. That's it. You're not coding. You're not engineering. You're having a conversation and telling it what you need.

From there, you build. A simple prompt formula. A saved workflow you can reuse. Eventually, you set things on autopilot. And the people who reach the top of this stack? They're saving 10 hours a week. Real hours. Not theoretical ones.

But none of that matters if you never start.

So if you've been watching from the sidelines, thinking AI is for someone more technical, more digital, more "with it" than you, I want you to hear this clearly:

You are capable of this. Right now. Exactly as you are.

You don't need a degree in data science. You need one small win. One task that gets easier. One moment where you think, "Wait, that's all it took?"

That moment changes everything. And it's closer than you think.

If you want to figure out where your Level 1 starts, I'm here for that conversation.

Your clients are forming opinions about your business after every interaction.

Most of them are not sharing those opinions publicly. Not because they wouldn't, but because no one asked at the right moment.

An automated review request, sent two days after a service is complete, closes that gap. One short message. One link. Thirty seconds for your client.

The feedback that was going to stay private becomes part of your public reputation.

For local businesses especially, this matters more than most people realize. Reviews directly influence whether someone chooses you over a competitor they have never met.

This article covers automation tools and strategies that make reputation management something that runs on its own. Worth reading if your online presence doesn't reflect what clients actually think of you.

In 2026, if you still think that AI and automation are for big enterprises, then think again, because you might be missing out on the biggest

Most people think of AI as a tool for automating tasks.

That is useful. But there is a quieter use case that I think is even more valuable.

Using AI as a thinking partner before a significant decision. Before signing a contract. Before changing your pricing. Before hiring someone or taking on a new type of client.

A good AI conversation can surface the question you haven't asked yet. Offer the counterargument to the direction you are leaning. Flag the assumption that deserves a second look.

It does not make the decision for you. It makes you sharper before you make it.

If AI is only saving you time on repetitive tasks, you are not using everything it can do.

A Friday ritual that takes 10 minutes and makes the following week significantly clearer.

At the end of every Friday, before you close the laptop, answer these five questions. Write them down, even briefly.

1. What was the highest-value thing I did this week?
2. What task ate the most time without moving the business forward?
3. What did I not finish that needs to happen first next week?
4. What is the one thing I most want to protect time for next week?
5. Is there anything I said I would do for a client or colleague that I have not done yet?

That last one is the most important. It prevents the small dropped balls that quietly erode trust.

Ten minutes. Five questions. Done before the weekend starts.

This habit does not require any tools. It requires only the discipline to do it before you switch off, rather than Monday morning when the momentum of the week has already taken over.

Try it this Friday and see how you feel walking into Monday.

Two lead problems that look the same from the outside.

Not enough leads. Or too much time spent on leads that were never going to work out.

Most business owners assume they have the first one. When you map the data, it is usually the second.

An automated qualification step, before the owner ever gets on a call, changes what the pipeline looks like. The right conversations get prioritized. The wrong-fit inquiries get handled gracefully and automatically.

This article covers what that looks like in practice with the tools that are available now. If your follow-up time feels like it disappears, this is a useful read.

The best AI automation tools for growing businesses in 2026: Make, n8n, Zapier, and more. How to choose the right tool, build your first workflow, and measure ROI.
