Event: Flash Flood Watch
Alert: ..FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH
SATURDAY MORNING...
..FLASH FLOOD WATCH THAT WAS EFFECTIVE THROUGH 7 AM THURSDAY HAS BEEN
CANCELLED...
The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of northwest Arkansas and
Oklahoma...including the following counties...in northwest
Arkansas...Madison and Washington AR. in Oklahoma...Adair...
Cherokee...McIntosh...Muskogee and Wagoner.
* From Friday morning through Saturday morning
* Additional showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop
across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas on Friday as another
upper level system and surface cold front move through the region.
* Much of the area has received 4 to 6 inches of rain over the past
few days. Local amounts Friday between 1 and 2 inches will
be possible. These amounts will aggravate ongoing flooding along
with main stem rivers that have seen rises from the recent convection.
* PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A flash flood watch means rapidly rising water or flooding is
possible within the watch area.
If you are in the watch area, keep informed, and be ready for
quick action if flash flooding is observed or if a warning is
issued. Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers
the road to unknown depths. Take a different route to reach your
destination or wait until the water recedes.

The Flash Flood Watch for portions of Arkansas and Oklahoma this
morning has been cancelled. The threat for heavy rain has ended
across the area this morning, therefore the watch has been cancelled.
