Does your AI have more access than it actually needs?

New research from Cequence Security and Enterprise Management Associates found a surprising gap: 94% of IT and security leaders surveyed believe their AI agents aren't over-provisioned, but only 33% actually provide them with least-privilege access. That means many AI agents may be operating with broader, standing permissions rather than access limited to exactly what they need.

AI can be incredibly powerful for business, but more access doesn't mean better AI. Better guardrails mean safer AI.

Do you know exactly what your AI tools have access to? 👀

09/05/2026

Before giving AI more responsibility in your business, Crystal Gonzalez recommends asking five important questions:

1️⃣ Which AI tools are being used?
2️⃣ What company data can each tool access?
3️⃣ What actions can each tool perform?
4️⃣ What requires human oversight and approval?
5️⃣ Who is responsible if something goes wrong?

If you can't answer these questions yet, it may be time to take a closer look at how AI is being used across your company.

Stop giving AI full access to your business systems on Day 1! 🛑

If your AI agent is doing 10 things at once, how are you going to figure out what went wrong? 🤔

Yamille explains why simpler AI agents and workflows are often better. Give an agent one clear job, let it get really good at that job, and make it easier to identify and contain problems when they happen.

One agent. One job. Clearer results.

What happens when AI gets the facts dangerously wrong?

In Episode 28, Crystal and Yamille discuss a real-life story involving a psychiatrist who faced serious legal consequences after information used against him was reportedly generated incorrectly by AI.

It’s a powerful reminder that AI can produce information that sounds convincing, even when the facts or sources aren’t accurate.

🔎 Key takeaways from this episode:

✔️ Don’t assume AI-generated information is automatically accurate.
✔️ Ask for sources—and actually verify them.
✔️ Check that links and references are real and support the information provided.
✔️ When the stakes are high, human review is essential.

AI can be incredibly useful, but accuracy still requires human judgment.

AUTOMATION SPOTLIGHT NEWS

What happens when AI makes up a source, and no one checks it?

AI hallucinations are becoming a very real problem in the legal world.

Morgan & Morgan, one of the largest personal injury law firms in the U.S., warned its more than 1,000 attorneys that AI can generate fake case law that looks real, and that using fabricated information in a court filing could have serious consequences.

The warning followed a case in which a federal judge considered sanctions after attorneys submitted court filings containing citations to cases that didn't actually exist.

The lesson goes far beyond the legal industry.

🔎 AI-generated doesn't mean verified.
🔗 Open the sources AI gives you.
📚 Make sure the source actually exists, and says what AI claims it says.
👀 Have a human review important information before acting on it.

AI can save your business time, but skipping the verification step can turn a useful tool into a very expensive mistake.

🎥 That's exactly what we're discussing in Episode 28 of AI & Tech Tuesdays: AI Hallucinations - When AI Gets It Wrong.

AI Gave You a Source. But Is It Real?

Getting a source from AI doesn't mean your fact-checking is finished.

Yamille explains why you should always check the sources AI provides, especially when accuracy matters. Click the link, verify the information, and make sure the source is actually real before you trust it.
