🎓 Another successful session of our Leadership Development Series (LDS) is in the books!

At PEC, we believe leadership isn't defined by a title. It's demonstrated through service, integrity, accountability, and the ability to positively influence others. Our Leadership Development Series exists to equip current and future leaders with the knowledge, perspective, and confidence to lead our people, serve our clients, and strengthen our employee-owned culture.

This session looked a little different. Instead of bringing everyone to one location as we have in the past, those in the office watched together in conference rooms, while remote team members joined from home. But the format didn't change the mission. We were still able to achieve everything this program is designed to do and continue investing in the growth of our team.

A huge congratulations to our newest graduates! Your commitment to growing as leaders is exactly what keeps PEC strong, and we're proud of each of you.

By investing in our people today, we ensure PEC remains a company where employees grow, clients succeed, and leadership becomes part of our legacy. We're already looking forward to the next class. 👏

The best partnerships are built over time. 🤝

We're grateful to our friends at ElectriCom for sharing this look at a partnership that goes back decades. From rural fiber projects in southern Indiana to broadband infrastructure across multiple markets, this relationship has been built the way the best ones always are: through years of solving problems together, adapting to new technology, and taking ownership when challenges arise.

We especially appreciate the words from David Webb, President of our Western Region, on what makes a true partner: it's not just how well a contractor performs, but what they do to make it right when something goes wrong.

🍽️ What a wonderful evening!

Last night, PEC and MBM hosted South Carolina's Electric Cooperative leaders and their spouses for dinner at Saskatoon Steaks, Fish & Wild Game, in honor of the SC Electric Cooperatives August Managers Association Meeting.

We had such a great time sharing good food, good conversation, and good company with the people who work hard every day to keep our communities powered and connected.

A big thank you to Meridian Cooperative for helping sponsor the evening, and to all the leaders and their spouses who joined us. It was a night to remember!

Here's to great partnerships and even better friendships. 🤝❤️

🎉 Happy 20th Anniversary to us!

It all began 20 years ago this month. In August 2006, Charles Stewart, Gregg Hughes, Eddie Godfrey, and George Wyatt met for breakfast at Athas Family Restaurant in Powdersville, SC, and by the end of the meal, Palmetto Engineering & Consulting was born.

This month, we brought the founders back to that very same restaurant to celebrate how far we've come. From a conversation over eggs and coffee to an employee-owned company serving communities across the country, it's been quite a journey.

Some of our founders have moved on to new adventures, but PEC would not be here without them. We're forever grateful for the vision they had that morning 20 years ago.

Here's to 20 years, and to many more! 🥂

🏗️ Progress in Montana! Take a look at the Northern Cheyenne Central Office and Tier-4 Data Center coming to life.

Designed by PEC, this facility will be a state-of-the-art telecommunications hub built to bring reliable, high-speed broadband to the Northern Cheyenne Nation. It's engineered to handle just about anything Montana weather can throw at it, from fire and lightning to snow and high winds, with top-tier reliability and security built in.

And this building is just one piece of the puzzle. PEC is also designing and managing the full fiber buildout that will connect this hub to the community, bringing high-speed internet all the way from the network core to homes and businesses.

Funded through the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program, this project is a big step toward expanding connectivity for current and future members of the Northern Cheyenne community.

It's amazing to watch it go from concept to steel. Stay tuned for more updates as construction continues! 💪

🎙️ Indiana, here we come!

PEC is speaking at the Indiana Broadband and Technology Association's 104th Annual Convention, and we couldn't be more excited.

David Webb, President of our Western Division, and Gordy Caverly, Sr. VP of the Midwest Region, will be on the panel "Navigating the Busy Season Ahead" on Wednesday, July 1st at 10:15 AM. They'll be talking through what the months ahead look like for the broadband industry and how to stay ahead of the curve.

📡 Big opportunity for tribal communities: federal broadband funding is now open!

The NTIA Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program (TBCP) Round 3 and the Native Entities Grant Program are accepting applications, and this is one of the biggest chances in years to bring reliable, lasting connectivity to tribal lands.

We have some exciting news to share! 🚀

Palmetto Engineering & Consulting has acquired MBM Consulting, LLC, now operating as MBM Facility & Construction Consulting, a PEC Company.

For over a decade, MBM has earned a reputation for helping clients successfully plan, manage, and oversee complex facility and construction projects while protecting investments and reducing risk. This partnership means PEC can now offer even more to our clients, including Construction Consulting, Owner's Representation, Facility Planning, and Project Oversight.

We are also excited to welcome Laura Wykel to the PEC family as Senior Vice President of Facility & Construction Consulting. Laura will lead the MBM team and guide the continued growth of these services, making sure every client gets the seamless, expert experience they deserve.

Big week ahead for PEC! 🗺️

Our Sr. VP of Geospatial Operations and Development, Zac Petix, will be taking the stage at the Rural Broadband Association's 91st Summer Conference this Tuesday, June 9th at 9:15 AM.

His presentation, "When AI Makes the Map," will dive into GeoAI, GIS Assistants, and workflow strategies for telecom. It's a topic at the intersection of where AI and broadband infrastructure are heading, and Zac is exactly the right person to be talking about it.
