How long should you keep business records?
Not everything can be thrown away after tax season. Keep receipts, tax returns, payroll records, and other financial documents for the appropriate amount of time to stay prepared for audits and future needs. We recommend 7 years from the filing date. However, there are some documents that you will need to keep longer if they are still on your books. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out so we can help you navigate the paper record retention.
