What’s Lurking Behind Your Vinyl Siding?! Many customers we talk to think that only stucco causes mold, rot and framing issues, but they can be wrong! Improper flashing around windows and doors can lead to the same problems.

Spring Is Coming! What are you waiting for? A special shout out to this West Chester homeowner for all of their hard work to design this house with us. It was a complete makeover and turned out beautifully.

New Black Provia Vinyl Windows with a gorgeous cross grid pattern gives this exterior a modern look (great decision to leave the shutters off to keep focus on the windows and trim)

Designed and Executed!

Special thanks to our latest Westchester customer for all the hard work and designing their new beautiful exterior!

at Martin Exterior Remodeling we use the most sophisticated design software so you can see exactly what your house will look like before we even start.

It’s out with the old vinyl and in with the new James Hardie fiber cement siding!

we combined the 7 inch khaki brown lab siding with cobblestone board and batten horizontal siding in the Gables and at the front of the home.

To add a nice touch our customer chose Certainteed’s stone Facade veneer siding for the front porch area.

Take notice of all the brand new pro via vinyl new construction windows. Energy efficiency at its best! We love the grid pattern they went with.

Curb appeal!

This Downtown West Chester home was completely renovated inside and the exterior front porch needed to match its beauty!

brand new PVC front porch posts were the first step in bringing this front porch back to its glory!

We installed PVC at the base of the porch and at the steps to really brighten it up. No more Rotten wood!

The standing seam red roof got a beautiful new coat of paint but we transition to a more modern black color.

all of the soffit facia and shutters were painted a slight off-white to contrast the bright white of the new porch posts.

we installed batten strips on the garage and then painted the entire garage to match the rear of the house which was just renovated.

Now the home looks like a million bucks!

From Cedar to James Hardie Fiber Cement!

Woodpeckers can really enjoy poking holes into cedar siding, and the constant replacement/painting and patching can pane exhausting and expensive.

New James Hardie Fiber Cement siding does not have those issues.

This West Chester home looks like new construction after this gorgeous IRON GREY cedar mill lap@siding was paired with Arctic White vertical board and batten siding at the gables.

All new crisp white azek window trim, corner posts, gutters, downspouts, soffit, fascia, and rake board capping give the house that modern clean feel.

Painting your garage doors can change the entire look of what is commonly your “main entrance.”

At the front entrance we replaced the post with a new craftsman style pvc post as well as new beaded soffit and azek beams.

Mold, Rot and Carpenter Ants, Oh My!

Stucco is a fantastic exterior cladding for any masonry wall, unfortunately most houses are built with wood (not concrete).

This causes water to become trapped, and special attention should have been paid where ever a window, door, light mount, patio etc. was installed on a stucco home.

Most stucco houses are not properly flashed in these areas. What happens is the water will@find its way around these areas, and wreak havoc on the wood, eventually infiltrating the drywall in your home.

This house was no different and was one of our worst houses to date.

We had to pull up the rear patio pavers to expose rotten lumber at the foundation, replace not just plywood but insulation and framing around windows and doors AND make sure to get rid of carpenter ants that we’re enjoying the soft wood in these areas.

Once we fixed the issues, we wrapped the walls with drainable synthetic house wrap and flashed
All the windows and doors with butyl tape and aluminum.

With in Cobblestone color, cedar mill finish, we were able to bring this house to a new beginning.

was installed above the garage gable for added beauty. New 6” gutters and spouts and gutter guards will protect the foundation and basement. New shutters bring it all together.

Remaining stucco was painted to seal the walls as well!
