We’re celebrating a meaningful milestone at Permission to Bloom.

Founder Glenna Wiseman has completed the Systemic Team Coaching® Practitioner certification, developed by Professor Peter Hawkins and the team at Renewal Associates.

This deepens the work Permission to Bloom brings to leadership teams navigating growth, change, and the added complexity of AI adoption.

Systemic Team Coaching looks at the team not only as a group of individuals, but as a living system — shaped by purpose, relationships, stakeholder needs, patterns of communication, and the wider environment in which the team operates.

For leadership teams today, this matters.

As organizations adopt enterprise AI, move faster, and ask more of already-stretched teams, the quality of alignment, trust, clarity, and collective leadership becomes increasingly strategic.

At Permission to Bloom, this certification strengthens our commitment to helping teams see what is really happening, restore connection and focus, and create meaningful value for the wider systems they serve.

AI is not just changing work. It’s exposing how well teams function together, or not.

You as an organizational leader can strengthen your company’s “Human Infrastructure” to ensure success in the AI era.

How can you ensure your AI initiatives support overall team and company performance?

Here are three ways:

1. Treat AI integration as an organizational change process, not just a technology rollout

2. Rebuild shared learning and human connection intentionally, and

3. Measure and strengthen team capacity alongside your company’s operational performance

You can find out more about these three strategies to build human infrastructure in your company in the AI era in my most recent post (link in comments). Its paired with findings from clean energy leaders we’ve been hearing from, and emerging research.

Hopefully it will help you strengthen your company and your team performance in the era we are in now.

As AI becomes more embedded in clean energy organizations, one of the leadership opportunities ahead is ensuring it works for the teams driving the energy transition, not against them.

Across conversations with executives, board members, HR leaders, legal teams, and professionals inside organizations, we are hearing a consistent pattern: companies are moving quickly to integrate AI, but adoption across teams and functions is often uneven. That unevenness matters.

AI does not move through an organization in isolation. It moves through existing communication patterns, workflows, trust levels, decision-making structures, and cultural norms.

When those systems are strong, AI can support greater clarity and ex*****on. When those systems are strained, AI can expose the cracks.

This is why human infrastructure is becoming a leadership imperative in the AI era.

We brought together industry insights, recent business findings, and practical recommendations for leaders who want AI to strengthen their teams rather than strain them.

This year, through conversations across the clean energy industry, an important question has been surfacing again and again:

As AI enters more deeply into our organizations, what is happening to the fabric of our teams?

Is AI helping strengthen connection, alignment, and collaboration?
Is it creating new strain points?
Or is the reality somewhere in between?

Over the past several months, Permission to Bloom has been gathering perspectives from leaders across the industry, alongside insights emerging from research, workshops, and conversations with professionals working at every level of organizations.

What is becoming increasingly clear is this:

Many companies are experimenting with AI at the enterprise level, often across multiple teams and functions at once. While much attention is rightly focused on the products, technologies, and infrastructure being built, there is another layer that deserves equal care and attention:

Our human infrastructure.

The relationships, trust, communication patterns, and shared understanding that allow teams to function well together.

Because AI adoption is not only a technology conversation. It is also a leadership, culture, and team functionality conversation.

Permission to Bloom’s newest insights piece explores this intersection and why strengthening human infrastructure may be one of the most important investments organizations can make during this transition.

What AI can do for us is exciting. And at the same time, we believe it is essential that the human fabric holding our organizations together remains strong, connected, and supported as we move into increasingly AI-enabled environments.

We invite you to read the piece and share what you are seeing inside your own organizations and teams.

AI is moving beyond tools. Across clean energy organizations, it is diffusing into enterprise-wide use. Into workflows, decision-making, and daily operations.

As this shift accelerates, Legal and governance teams are playing a critical role.
In-house legal leaders are helping organizations move from experimentation to structure. Clarifying acceptable use, defining decision rights and embedding oversight and accountability into how AI is actually used across the enterprise.

At the same time, AI diffusion is creating new demands on teams. Adoption is uneven across functions Workflows are shifting in real time Decision-making is becoming more complex.

AI integration is not only a technical or governance rollout. It is a team evolution. Organizations that recognize this have an opportunity to strengthen alignment, clarify how teams operate, and support people in integrating AI in ways that enhance performance rather than fragment it.

This perspective is explored further here:

In the Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy March webinar on team dynamics, leaders across the clean energy sector shared a common experience.

AI is increasingly integrated into daily workflows, supporting research, drafting, and analysis. At the same time, teams are navigating rising expectations and an accelerating pace of work.

What emerged clearly is that AI increases speed, but it does not create alignment.
Teams that are navigating this transition effectively are anchored in shared purpose.

When individuals understand how their work connects to broader organizational goals, alignment and motivation strengthen across the system.

Without that shared understanding, the introduction of AI can contribute to fragmentation, rework, and uncertainty in decision making.

AI remains a tool. Human judgment and accountability remain essential to how teams function and perform.

The challenges teams face today were at the center of our recent International Women’s Day webinar with Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE).

A key question emerged: Are teams actually able to carry what we are asking of them right now?

One of the themes participants surfaced was the intersection of workload, systems, and the role of AI. Several leaders spoke to the growing complexity of AI-enabled work. While AI tools are beginning to support research, drafting, and analysis, there is a clear need for thoughtful integration and careful verification of outputs.

Many teams are still learning how to balance the efficiency AI offers with the accountability and judgment that human expertise provides, particularly in a collaborative environment.

Across the conversation, one thing was clear: Teams are carrying a lot. AI is accelerating expectations. The pace of change is increasing. And in many cases, the capacity of teams to meet that moment isn’t fully visible.

When that gap goes unseen, teams continue forward under strain.

As we close out Women’s History Month, we’re grateful to WRISE for creating space for honest, grounded dialogue, and to the leaders who brought their real experiences into the room.

This moment is asking a great deal of leadership.

Creating the conditions for teams not only to perform, but to sustain and evolve, is becoming essential.

Team Capacity vs. Demand: Closing the Energy Gap

Most leadership teams are operating with a hidden gap between what they are asked to deliver and the energy they actually have.

In times of change, that gap widens, leading to strain, misalignment, and reduced effectiveness.

The PTB Team Energy Barometer℠ makes this visible in minutes.

From there, leaders can realign priorities, strengthen trust, and restore the energy required to perform at their best.

Used at the start and throughout our work, it serves as a core PTB diagnostic within a broader systemic team approach.
