Today I celebrate the Helping Professional.
Helping Professionals play a vital role in our communities by addressing a wide range of needs. They not only provide support for behavioral health but also contribute to overall well-being by assisting with physical health, educational goals, social connections, and spiritual growth. Their dedication and compassion make a significant difference in the lives of individuals and families. Celebrating these individuals is important, as their work often goes unrecognized, yet it is foundational to the health and resilience of our society.

As a young person I often thought my life was awful. I struggled with visioning the positive in my life experiences. It wasn’t until a life or death situation that I intentionally shifted my thinking. It was necessary for my mental health and a healthy lifestyle overall. I began writing about my experiences (I knew I wasn’t the only one) and sharing my stories.
Today both of my books have a place in my High School Library. This is the same place I often found refuge as a young person. I’m grateful for the opportunity to remind those young people that they are not alone and things will get better. I am living proof!

As you journey through W.A.S.H.: Time To Do YOUR Laundry remember:

* Let go of a defeatist mindset, constantly expecting the worse. Hold tight to YOUR positive thoughts.
* A Helping Professional can support you as you address those situations that have negatively impacted YOUR mental and emotional well being.
* There are times that YOUR integrity is all that you may have in a situation.
* A Laundry stain is a mark that is not easily removed (explained more in W.A.S.H.).
* Life stains are those things that have caused damage emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually, or socially (explained more in W.A.S.H.).

I don’t vend often and I have become very selective. I’m grateful that I was chosen to vend during this event. I facilitated W.A.S.H workshops last year for one of their cohorts. It was truly an amazing experience! Pittsburgh Scholar House is a life changing organization💙

I felt myself declining but truly couldn’t figure out how to stop the foreseen emotional and mental crash. Then came our already planned trip to Woman Evolve ‘24. I experienced true transformation, from the heart. I sang. I shouted. I cried. I wailed. I purged. God moved and I’m grateful I experienced the shift of the wind. The scales have fallen from my eyes. My heart is full. I’ve been crying for days but these are tears of joy and gratitude. I pray every woman desperate to go deeper in their relationship with God and connect with themselves register for the next conference. Now the work begins💙
