Well that escalated quickly... I wasn't planning on banging everything else out in a day, but the rainy evening had other plans. Every time I play it, I'm reminded what an absolute classic it is.

I bought this back around March and have been patiently waiting on some ptime to knock it out. Step 1 - insert LEDs, NVRAM, ColorDMD (Pin2DMD) and all mech fixes; Step 2 - cleaning time!

Unfortunately there is a little bit of planking in the inlanes of this diamond plate, but otherwise this should clean up really nice and will be in my collection for a long time.

Barring one minor issue (The transporter rope lights), let's put another in the done column! This one had a full mylar removal, full LED, new color matched Silicone, a deep clean, flipper rebuild, ramp rebuild w/ new spring steel, NVRAM, upgraded aftermarket code installed, and a bunch of other minor tweaks and fixes.

I'm a big Star Trek nerd, so I'm looking forward to playing this one a bit. However, being a little younger; Picard is my Captain (hence the Next Generation sitting next to it), so we will have to see what I'm going to do with it (keep, sell, church 😁).

If you have a game you need fixed (or are looking to buy a new game or sell an old one) please don't hesitate to call today!

Let's play guess that game - it's playfield swap time. Always nice to get a project underway that's been hanging in the backlog for years.

Borg ship gets a window upgrade - out with the old curled and funky light blue celophane, in with sturdy Star Trek appropriate green windows. Call or message today with any pinball help you may need

This is just an in progress shot, and while I can't wait to share the final, it is worth talking about what's happening here.

A few small wear spots around the scoops could have continued to worsen, so the best plan is to fully remove the factory installed Mylar and then protect with smaller fully attached pieces where needed.

I recommend upside down canned air to pull the mylar, then a combination of rapid remover, goo gone, and white flour to roll up and remove the left behind adhesive. I'll post the final clean up shortly (and will mostly likely bring this one to the church for free play).

Well, that's a wrap on another fantastic Pinburgh weekend for me. I did get sanctioned for one super fast fix before the tourney started (a quick ROM update, and though not on one of mine, ironically on the game that had my sign!), but it was good to spend a few days purely focused on playing vs my usual side of the house.

At the end of it all, qualifying for B and finishing a perfect .500 (60 wins, 60 losses) is pretty ok in my book against some of the best players in the world.

Now, it's time to get back to work; so if anyone has a game that needs fixed (or sold, or is looking for their first game) ping me today!

A new piece of spring steel can really make an old ramp look great again; still a little plastic damage at the bottom but all the rust is gone and we'll be ready for another decade or two shortly

It's not always sexy work, but soldering in a new replacement rectifier and repinning connectors is often necessary to bring an old Bally back to life. Bally/Stern '77-'84 is one of my favorite manufacturer eras to work on.

It's great to be getting back to some Skill Shot Repair work after the wonderful success that was PinBrew (and a flurry of game purchases and sells on my part). If you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out!
