Say hello to Tamera, our new Community Manager and the warm voice you'll be seeing in the FB Community's posts, comments, and the DMs, and around the community.

Tamera is here to make sure this space stays what it's always been: a village. Somewhere you can show up tired, show up honest, show up whole, and be met with love every time. When you drop a question, share a win, or just need somebody to say "me too," she's the mama making sure you feel seen.

So don't be shy. Drop a 🤎 in the comments and tell Tamera hello. Tell her where you're tuning in from and one thing that's been keeping you going lately.

Let's welcome her in the Brown Mamas way.

We're so glad you're here, Tamera. 🗣️

The public hearing on paid parental leave is June 2.

That’s it. That’s the window where decision-makers will hear directly from the people this affects. After that, the only voices in the room belong to those who already had a seat at the table.

We can’t let that happen. 💗

Your story is the policy argument. The recovery you didn’t get. The bedside you couldn’t reach. The choice no one should ever have to make. That’s what changes minds. That’s what changes laws.

Three ways to make sure mamas are heard:
đź“… Attend the public hearing: June 2
🗣️ Speak at the public hearing: June 2
📝 Leave a public comment: through June 16
đź”— Sign up to attend or speak: bit.ly/paidleave4moms

Can’t make it on June 2? Public comments are open through June 16, but don’t wait. The clock is ticking and silence is a vote for staying stuck.

Three minutes of your time. One story. Generations of mamas who come after you will feel the difference. ✊🏾

The State of Black Motherhood, Uninterrupted with Medina Jackson, Director of the Positive Racial Identity Development in Early Education (P.R.I.D.E) in Pittsburgh, PA.

We are pulling back the curtain on what it really looks like to mother while Black. The joy. The weight. The village. The gaps. No filter, no flinching, no interruptions.

🗣️ Mamas, your voice is needed. 🗣️

Pittsburgh is holding a public comment session on paid parental leave, and decision-makers need to hear from the people this actually impacts: US.

You don’t need a script. You don’t need to be a policy expert. You just need to share what you know to be true: families deserve the time to heal, bond, and care for their loved ones without losing a paycheck.

📣 Public hearing: June 2
đź“… Public comments accepted through: June 16

Whether you speak at the hearing or submit a written comment from your couch at 11pm with a baby on your chest, it counts. Every story moves us closer.

Let’s speak up for moms and families. ✊🏾

Wednesday, we're with Medina Jackson, Director of Engagement at at the University of Pittsburgh. We're talking about what it means to raise Black children who know who they are before the world tries to tell them.

Live at noon.

If you've ever wondered when to start the conversation, Wednesday is the conversation.

Meet M**fy. 🤎

Founder. Speaker. Community advocate. Educator. Mama.

She's the kind of woman your grandmama would call solid. The kind who walks in a room and the temperature changes. Who says the thing out loud that the rest of us have been holding in our chest.
Fourteen years ago she sat in a Pittsburgh living room with five other Black mamas and asked one question.

What do we actually need?

The room answered. She listened. And then she got to building.

What she built is what you're standing in right now. Brown Mamas. The Monologues. The Facebook community that feels like Sunday dinner. The TEDx stage. The book on Essence Festival shelves. The seat at tables Black mamas weren't being invited to. A whole village, stitched together by one woman who refused to let Black motherhood be a thing we did alone.

But M**fy ain't just credentials. She's the one who texts you back. Who remembers your baby's name. Who cries at the Monologues every single time. Who tells the truth even when it costs her.

She's the founder. She's also the friend.

Watch the Reel. Then drop her name in the comments and tell us what she's meant to your village.

We 🤎 you, M**f.

Turning 40 is a transformation point in a woman's life.

It marks a sacred moment when we look back, discard what is no longer aligned with our ascension and rebirth, often through the fire, a new version of ourselves.

A beautiful period of time that often occurs with no recognition or ceremony. We want to change that.

The Witnessing: Rewriting 40 at The Threshold is a sacred pause of women at the threshold of 40 (38-43) who are ready to be seen and held as they walk this path and step into what's next.

The monthly healing space will be held monthly in summer 2025 (May, July & August) in Pittsburgh, PA.

This is not for an event. It is a sacred pause for only 20 women. We will sit with you in your body, we will listen to your story and allow your spirit to create a confirmation of your transformation.

Come thru sis!!! We're waiting for you.
