I had Propel in this slot because I thought it would be a strong seller. It was not bad, but it was not moving the way I expected. After watching the sales data, I swapped it for Dr Pepper and the difference was immediate. That is the reality of vending. You do not have to be right the first time. You just have to pay attention and adjust.

Vending tip. Give new products enough time to prove themselves, but do not be afraid to make a change when the data tells you it is time.

After a deep clean, I run selection tests to make sure the machine's selection numbers match what is shown on the backend. It is a simple step, but it helps ensure products are mapped correctly and sales data stays accurate.

Vending tip. Always verify selections after cleaning, repairs, or tray adjustments. A few test vends can save a lot of confusion when reviewing sales later.

Spent some time removing the wrap from one of the machines I recently picked up, testing everything, and installing a card reader to get it ready for its next location. A little cleanup and preparation goes a long way toward making sure a machine is ready to perform from day one.

Vending tip. Before placing a machine, test every major function while it is still in your workspace. It is much easier to fix issues before the machine reaches the customer.

Moving day for the vending machine trade. One of my brothers and I loaded up the truck with two machines and got everything secured for the trip. A lot of work happens before a machine ever reaches its next location, and having family willing to lend a hand makes the process a lot smoother.

Vending tip. Before moving a machine, remove loose inventory, secure shelves, and double check the lock and door. A few extra minutes of prep can prevent damage during transport.
