Last week, Kristin Brady, a John Greene Realtor, gave us a fun (and sometimes horrifying!) look at what can happen when selling a house. We played “Totally Normal or Horror Story?” and heard some of Kristin’s real-life stories—from sellers who refuse (or whose cats refuse) to leave during showings, to homes filled with garbage and personal belongings, to sellers who have actually left giant gaping holes in the wall. 😳

Kristin also shared some great advice for sellers, including why your home may not be worth as much as you think and the difference between personal property and fixtures. The takeaway? When it’s time to sell, you know who you’re gonna call!

Last week, some of our members participated in the Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce annual golf outing. This event is always one that goes on the calendar every year as it brings together so many community leaders for a fun day of golf and commradery.

What started as a hobby and a way to give back has grown into a thriving business. As Blue Heron Bagels continues to grow, Kim is expanding her impact through the Doughnation Program and Bakers Give Back initiatives—proving local businesses can make a real difference.

Kim challenged Nick to a bagel shaping race (he came close, but she won!) and sent us all home with a Blue Heron Spreader and a bagel!
